Principal prosecuted, Quang Nam Medical College waiting for someone to sign graduation certificate

On June 18, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province said that the Provincial People's Committee has just sent an official dispatch requesting the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to guide Quang Nam Medical College in issuing temporary graduation certificates to students.

The People's Committee of Quang Nam province requested the Department of Home Affairs to proactively exchange information and coordinate with the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee to promptly advise and seek opinions from the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee on the assignment of authority to the principal of Quang Nam Medical College, as a basis for the school to sign and issue graduation certificates in accordance with regulations.

Previously, Quang Nam Medical College sent a dispatch to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province requesting to issue temporary graduation certificates to students.

Quang Nam Medical College said that according to regulations, the authorized persons to sign graduation diplomas include the principal, acting principal and vice principal authorized in writing by the principal.

However, currently at Quang Nam Medical College there are only two vice principals, no one has enough authority to sign the graduation certificates for students who have reached the graduation period.

Faced with this reality, Quang Nam Medical College requested the People's Committee of Quang Nam province to allow Mr. Bui Long An, Vice Principal, to sign and issue temporary graduation certificates to students graduating this term, with an expected number of 120 students (including both the joint training system and the regular system).

This is to create peace of mind for students, especially Lao students who are studying and have reached the graduation period. At the same time, it helps students in the articulation program to be eligible to submit their application for transfer.

Previously, Quang Nam Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute Huynh Tan Tuan, Principal; Nguyen Ba, former Principal; and Nguyen Duc Don, Head of Planning and Finance Department, Chief Accountant of Quang Nam Medical College for abusing their positions and powers while performing official duties.

Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee has assigned Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to manage the school's activities.
