Nam Dinh province leaders affirmed that they will closely coordinate with VFF and create the most favorable conditions for the "Golden Star Warriors" as well as the visiting team Syria.

Syria is currently ranked 90th in the world , 5 places higher than the Vietnam team. The West Asian team also entered the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia.

Syria has won 6 points in this qualifying round, with 1 win against Lebanon and 3 draws against opponents Iraq (2 times) and UAE.

The Syrian team is led by coach Hector Cuper, who was the captain of Valencia, Inter Milan, Real Betis and Parma.
