Vietnam national team lost 0-4 to all-Western Nam Dinh Club: The opponent was too strong

On the day of testing many new elements, the Vietnamese team lost 0-4 to Nam Dinh Club in a friendly match taking place at 5:00 p.m. today (September 4).

The team is led by acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, playing a friendly match with Nam Dinh Club at 5:00 p.m. today (September 4) at the football field of the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ).

Although only playing a friendly match with a V-League team, the Vietnamese team faces a tough challenge, because Nam Dinh Club currently has 11 foreign players in its squad, to serve 4 arenas: V-League, National Cup, AFC Champions League 2 and ASEAN Club Championship.

In order for the Vietnamese team to have a quality friendly match, coach Vu Hong Viet of Nam Dinh Club used all 11 Western players, with combative faces such as Romulo da Silva, Caio Cesar, Percy Tau, Kyle Hudlin... On the opposite side, acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh arranged many main pillars such as Duy Manh, Hoang Duc, Tien Anh, Thanh Chung. Young goalkeeper Van Viet (born in 2002) was the first goalkeeper.

Thanks to the tall foreign players, with comprehensive technical skills and extremely strong fighting, Nam Dinh FC dominated the game. After many opportunities were created, the team from the South took a 1-0 lead in the first half thanks to Romulo's goal after a good combination with Percy Tau.

Due to the friendly nature, the Vietnamese team changed all their lineups in the second half to test new players, while Nam Dinh Club kept foreign players on the field to prepare for peak performance for the international tournament.

With pieces like Van Vi, Gia Hung, Du Hoc in the attack, Hoang Anh, Viet Hung in the midfield, Tuan Tai, Xuan Manh on the two wings and Van Toi, Quang Kiet, Hoang Phuc in the defense, the Vietnamese team could not withstand the pressure of the opponent.

Nam Dinh FC scored 3 more goals thanks to Mahmoud Eid and Kyle Hublin (double) to win 4-0. In the third goal, Hudlin got past young defender Quang Kiet, before beating Van Chuan to score.

The very good quality of foreign players helped Nam Dinh Club take the initiative from start to finish.

With the fragmented pieces, mainly consisting of rookies who were playing for the national team for the first time, the failure of the Vietnamese team was relatively easy to understand. The 0-4 loss to Nam Dinh Club helped acting coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team, coach Kim Sang-sik, see the shortcomings of the Vietnamese team. Although the rookies tried hard, played enthusiastically and aggressively, they could not show much.

Although the Vietnamese team coordinated well, they were weak in their competition and lacked coherence in their play. The connection between the defenders in defensive situations was also not good. In the last 20 minutes, the decline in physical strength made it impossible for Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh's students to stick with their opponents.

However, it is difficult to blame the players. With so many foreign players in the squad, Nam Dinh FC is no different from an international team at a very high level. The players have received valuable lessons to improve.
