The 14th Miss Supranational contest is about to take place next July. Vietnam's representative at this year's contest - runner-up Dang Thanh Ngan is also rushing to prepare for the contest.

However, right before the event, the Organizing Committee of Miss Supranational announced a series of new regulations, aiming to tighten the situation of a beauty queen holding multiple titles.

The Organizing Committee stated that the new Miss and runner-up will sign a 1-year contract and extend it after the term for another 2 years, for a total of 3 years. The Miss cannot participate in any other national or international beauty pageant. If violated, she must pay compensation of 100,000 USD (more than 2.3 billion VND) to the Miss Supranational organization.

This new regulation will be applied from this year and included in the contracts for Miss Supranational and runner-up after the coronation.

This regulation is said to have been issued after Miss Supranational 2019 Anntonia Porsild decided to give up her title to compete in Miss Universe Thailand 2023.

Miss Supranational is one of the six major beauty pageants in the world , held annually by the World Beauty Association (WBA), headquartered in Panama.

Vietnam's highest achievement at this contest is the second runner-up title of Kim Duyen in the 2022 season.

Vietnam's representative at Miss Supranational 2023 in Poland is the 2nd runner-up of Miss Ocean Vietnam 2017 - Dang Thanh Ngan. She was born in 1999 in Soc Trang , is 1.75 m tall, and weighs 55 kg.

She studied at Can Tho University, however, her family later moved to Ho Chi Minh City. Due to unfavorable conditions, the beauty put her studies on hold. Dang Thanh Ngan attended a professional stage actor training course at Hong Van Drama Theater for 3 years. She participated in the film: "Lua", sitcom "Miss Detective".

During her first activities at Miss Supranational 2023, Thanh Ngan received mixed opinions because of her poor English.

Specifically, in the SupraChat competition, Dang Thanh Ngan and the girls interacted and answered questions posed by the MC.

In the introduction, the beauty from Soc Trang answered in English. She said she is a professional model and actress in Vietnam. Dang Thanh Ngan said she was influenced by the personality of Western women such as generosity, hard work...

However, in the next 2 questions, the Vietnamese beauty chose to answer in Vietnamese.

In addition to her English pronunciation, the introduction of the beauty from Soc Trang was commented to be stiff, unnatural, with a forced smile and a trembling voice.

Dang Thanh Ngan will leave for Poland to participate in Miss Supranational 2023 on June 26. She has received mixed opinions because her English is not good.

In response to mixed public comments, Dang Thanh Ngan said that there are new challenges she must overcome. There are experiences she has not necessarily done well, but she is still improving herself every day.
