From the ring to the screen

Growing up in Dong Nai , Loi Tran started practicing martial arts at the age of 13 and became a national boxer with many achievements. In mid-2014, the young boxer decided to switch to acting when he realized he had a talent for art. After Lat mat 2 , 798 Muoi, Loi Tran only got noticed when he played the role of Thap Bat Ca in Bi Long Dai Ca.

Loi Tran shared with VietNamNet that he was fascinated by the image of heroes on the big screen and that became the motivation to pursue art.

During his school years, Loi Tran was the secretary of the Youth Union, regularly performed in art shows, and even sang at weddings. When he realized that he had both artistic talent and a strong personality, he decided to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. His family initially thought it was just a normal hobby, but when Loi Tran decided to enter the profession, his parents agreed and supported their son.

Coming to Ho Chi Minh City to start a career, Loi Tran did not know anyone in the industry and did not attend a formal theater school. He cast himself, passing countless rounds of selection to find opportunities.

The opportunity came unexpectedly. A brother in the industry sent a Facebook message inviting Loi Tran to perform at a bar. During the performance, the brother was injured, forcing the show to be stopped urgently. Loi Tran accepted the performance but did not receive a fee.

After the incident, his brother introduced Loi Tran to a television crew as an extra. With his efforts and acting ability, Loi Tran gradually gained the attention of many directors and was invited to participate in bigger projects.

The person who has had the greatest influence on his career is actor Vu Duc Hai. Over the past 10 years, Duc Hai has shared a lot of experience with Loi Tran, helping him to have a more professional working mindset and a spirit of constant effort. Loi Tran considers that the most important source of energy on his artistic path.

In the movie Deathmatch in the Sky , Loi Tran had some creative ideas outside the script. The important line that Loi Tran asked the director for permission to add was "If you want everyone to leave Vietnam, keep your role", making the scene more impressive.

Talking about backstage, Loi Tran told a story that the whole crew will remember forever. When Thai Hoa was about to hit him, right when the director shouted "start", instead of focusing on acting, Loi Tran ran out to chat with the director, making the whole crew laugh.

The slap in the schoolyard and childhood scars

While studying in Dong Nai, Loi Tran experienced a haunting experience that lasted for more than 20 years. There was a girl who liked Loi Tran, but another boy was not satisfied and beat him in the school yard in front of his friends. The feeling of humiliation was deeply engraved in Loi Tran's mind. But it was that event that motivated him to learn martial arts to protect himself and become stronger. If it weren't for that slap in the middle of school that year, Loi Tran would not have become a national boxer.

Loi Tran admitted to VietNamNet that he has a secret hobby that his family still doesn't know about - his passion for speed and cars. When he was a student, he still went to school regularly but sometimes secretly went out to ride his car to feel the thrill of speed. He emphasized that he just likes speed and is passionate about cars, not racing like many people think.

Regarding love, Loi Tran said he has loved 3 people. The most romantic moment he ever did was to use all his salary to buy a valuable ring for his girlfriend. That was the first and only time he spent such a large amount of money on a sentimental gift. The ring not only shows his love but also his respect and seriousness for the person he loves.

Loi Tran used to do business with his girlfriend. At first, everything went well, but then he realized that it was not enough for them to both love and do business together. Their views on love and business were different, leading to many irreconcilable conflicts. In the end, they decided to break up, Loi Tran left all the business to his girlfriend.

"In terms of acting, I have not failed much because I am still in the process of learning through each supporting role. Each film is a lesson to help me act better. But in life, I have experienced failure and learned many valuable experiences," he shared.

Before deciding to pursue art, Loi Tran dreamed of becoming a special forces soldier - one of the most important positions in the army, requiring good skills both on land and underwater, and comprehensive combat skills. Loi Tran greatly admired special forces soldiers but in the end still chose the path of art to pursue his passion.

Currently, Loi Tran's daily routine revolves around physical training, going to the gym, practicing martial arts or playing pickleball.

Loi Tran said that when he likes a sport, he will study it very carefully. Although he approached pickleball later than many other artists, thanks to his talent for the sport, he achieved 5 achievements in a short time.

Regarding future plans, Loi Tran said: "The ultimate destination I am aiming for is to make my own films. That is my biggest dream right now and I am preparing step by step to make that dream come true."
