These days, all kinds of ornamental flowers from flower villages in the West such as Sa Dec (Dong Thap), Cai Mon (Ben Tre), My Phong ( Tien Giang )... follow buses and flights in all directions.

Cai Mon is jammed.
On January 19, Rach Mieu Bridge - the main gateway to Ben Tre to reach Cai Mon flower village - was jammed. The long queue of vehicles consisted mainly of trucks carrying flowers and ornamental plants from Cho Lach district (Ben Tre) to Ho Chi Minh City and the Eastern, Central and Northern provinces for sale.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang (43 years old, living in Binh Phuoc province), parked his car on Highway 60 (My Tho city) to wait to cross Rach Mieu bridge, impatiently said: "This year I went to Cho Lach earlier than previous years to avoid traffic jams, I didn't expect to get stuck, I hope I can turn back in time for the day to be safe."
According to annual tradition, around December 20, Mr. Hoang and his wife personally drove a truck to flower villages in the West to transport flowers to retail markets in Binh Phuoc. Because in previous years they did not deposit in advance, they bought any garden they liked, so the cost price was quite high, and selling did not make much profit.
This year, Mr. Hoang has deposited to buy 5,000 pots of chrysanthemums and marigolds from a gardener in Cho Lach more than 2 months ago at a price much lower than the current price, so he hopes to sell them profitably this year.
This is also the way some very large gardeners in Cai Mon flower village consume flowers this year. According to a survey on the same day at many gardeners in Cho Lach district, this year's flower prices only increased slightly compared to last year, many gardeners have sold all their flowers to traders. These days, they only take care of them and wait for the traders' trucks to come and take them to retail, and they have already received a part of the money.
Sa Dec is bustling with people and vehicles.
Sa Dec flower village is often crowded with tourists who come here to take photos and visit before Tet. This is also an opportunity for gardeners to promote and sell their products very early.
At the Dong Thap Ornamental Flower Trade Center (Provincial Road 848, Tan Khanh Dong Commune, Sa Dec City), gardeners put flowers on display for sale, mostly yellow chrysanthemums that are blooming brightly. Many family tourist groups come to take pictures and buy flowers, while gardeners pack the flowers and put them on trucks to deliver to other places.
The atmosphere of shopping on the eve of Tet is bustling with people and vehicles. At the center of Sa Dec flower village, many gardeners are busy delivering goods and welcoming visitors to buy flowers on the spot.
Mr. Nguyen Van Sang - a tourist attraction of the Love Land Love Flower Garden - said that this year, there are many tourists coming to the flower village early, the tourist attraction alone welcomes 500 - 700 visitors per day, and more on weekends.
Visitors come to take pictures and buy flowers directly at the garden at the original price, so they really like it. At this time, there are still many flowers in the garden, so visitors have many choices.
This year, Korean chrysanthemums continue to be hot with 80% (equivalent to 8,000 baskets) ordered by traders to be delivered to the market on the 25th of the lunar month. The average price of colored chrysanthemums at the garden is quite soft, from 80,000 - 100,000 VND/basket.
"The total number of flowers in the garden is about 70,000 - 80,000 baskets such as yellow raspberries, Korean raspberries, coconut vegetables, super bud roses, camouflage chrysanthemums, marigolds, and toadstools... most of which have been ordered. Korean raspberries alone have about 2,000 baskets for sale to tourists to buy at the garden, especially red and double happiness colors are no longer available for sale," said Mr. Sang.
According to the Economic Department of Sa Dec City, the area of ornamental flowers serving the 2025 Tet market is about 100 hectares, including roses, apricots, marigolds, almonds, orchids, and chrysanthemums. Of which, chrysanthemums are still the mainstay of the Tet season with about 75,000 baskets of yellow raspberries, 100,000 baskets of Taiwanese chrysanthemums, and 100,000 baskets of Korean raspberries.
This year the quantity of traditional yellow chrysanthemums is lower than last year, increasing the quantity of multi-colored chrysanthemums and other varieties that are popular in the market.
Attractive Lai Vung pink grapefruit, Cao Lanh mango
Dong Thap's Tet fruit specialties such as Lai Vung pink tangerines and Cao Lanh mangoes (cat chu mangoes and Hoa Loc mangoes) are attracting customers. Mangoes are being sold by gardeners with beautiful designs to serve as decorations for Tet fruit trays at the price of 60,000 VND/kg for yellow Cat Chu mangoes, and Hoa Loc mangoes at the price of 85,000 - 95,000 VND/kg.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu - owner of Hung Phat pink tangerine garden (Hoa Thanh commune, Lai Vung district) - said that this year the garden has about 15 tons of pink tangerines, and has sold about 5 tons to tourists. "On the 26th of the lunar calendar, traders will come to the garden to buy tangerines for the Tet market. It is estimated that the garden has about 10 tons left to deliver to traders at a price of 40,000 VND/kg," Ms. Thu said.
