The 21st Lai Chau Provincial Elderly Health Festival, 2025

This morning (September 28), the 21st Lai Chau Province Elderly Fitness Festival 2025 closed after 2 days of exciting competition. The event was organized by the Provincial Elderly Association in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Attending the event were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Department of Home Affairs; Department of Health ; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders of the Provincial Elderly Association and many members and people in the province.

The Organizing Committee awarded souvenir flags to the teams participating in the Sports Festival.

This year's Sports Festival gathered 160 athletes from 9 communes and wards in the province, competing in 4 sports: volleyball, table tennis, badminton and chess.

Mr. Le Xuan Phung - Chairman of the Provincial Elderly Association spoke at the Health Festival.

Speaking at the Health Festival, Mr. Le Xuan Phung - Chairman of the Provincial Elderly Association emphasized: In recent years, the sports movement for the elderly in the area has continuously developed, attracting a large number of members to participate. Many elderly people are still passionate about practicing sports, contributing to improving their health, spirit and spreading a positive lifestyle in the community.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Toan - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department awarded prizes to outstanding athletes.

The Health Festival is an opportunity to evaluate the recent elderly sports movement, creating a playground for athletes to exchange, learn, and improve the quality of training and competition. The event also aims to respond to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", to praise and reward groups and individuals with outstanding achievements, and to spread the message "Elderly people live happily, healthily, and happily for their families and society".

Comrade Tran Van Cong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded prizes to outstanding athletes.

At the end of the Sports Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded 27 first, second and third prizes in the competition categories. In the overall group competition, the Provincial Elderly Association won first prize; second prize went to the Elderly Association of Doan Ket ward; third prize went to the Elderly Association of Phong Tho commune and Tan Phong ward.

The 21st Lai Chau Provincial Elderly Fitness Festival in 2025 was a great success, leaving many deep impressions, continuing to affirm the spirit of "old age, higher ambition" and promoting the health training movement in the elderly community throughout the province.
