Conference scene
At the conference on tourism development cooperation between the Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of the provinces and tourism and travel businesses proposed many solutions to remove bottlenecks in the process of cooperation and development of inter-regional tourism. Accordingly, the Northwestern provinces need to prioritize the construction and development of new tourism products, imbued with local cultural identity such as: tours to the source associated with the history of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, community tourism, tours to experience the golden season in the highland provinces, building community destinations specific to each ethnic group and each locality. In addition to perfecting tourism products, promotion and advertising work also needs to be promoted. Delegates emphasized the application of digital platforms to introduce destinations in a vivid, fast and effective way, helping domestic and foreign tourists easily access information and choose experiences. Strengthening links, sharing resources, promoting joint promotion between the Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City is expected to open a sustainable direction for the tourism industry in the coming time.
Comrade Luu Hong Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lai Chau province spoke at the Conference
At the conference on tourism development linkage between the extended Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of Lai Chau province emphasized the great potential and orientation for sustainable, creative tourism development, imbued with the identity of the highlands.
Lai Chau - the land at the head of the Fatherland - not only has a strategic position in terms of national defense and security but is also considered a "rough gem" of Vietnam tourism. With a cool climate all year round, majestic landscapes and pristine mountain ecosystems, the province owns 6/10 of the highest peaks in the country such as Pusilung, Putaleng, Bach Moc Luong Tu... This is an ideal condition for developing adventure, exploration and trekking tourism. In addition, Lai Chau is also famous for the cultural identity of 20 ethnic groups living together, many unique traditional festivals such as Then Kin Pang, Gau Tao, Nang Han... and typical community tourism spots such as Sin Suoi Ho village - a community tourism spot that meets ASEAN standards. However, the province also frankly acknowledged the remaining limitations such as: tourism products are not really unique, lack of high-class services, management of tourist attractions is not yet synchronized, cultural preservation in some villages is gradually fading away... Faced with that situation, Lai Chau proposed a series of solutions: focusing on developing specific tourism products such as eco-resort tourism associated with agriculture in the Sin Ho and O Quy Ho plateaus; community tourism associated with indigenous cultural experiences; festival tourism - fairs such as San Thang and Sin Ho; adventure sports tourism on high mountain peaks; cross-border tourism through Ma Lu Thang border gate connecting with Yunnan province (China). The province also called for the participation of large corporations in investing in infrastructure and tourism services; at the same time, promoting links between the Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City to form attractive inter-regional tourism routes, capable of attracting domestic and international tourists. Lai Chau aims to not only be a potential destination but also become a unique destination - rich in identity, imbued with the Northwest on the tourism map of Vietnam and the region.
At the 2025 Northwest - Dien Bien Quintessence Festival, Lai Chau province organized participation Booths display, introduce and promote typical tourism products, attractive tours, and typical destinations imbued with local cultural identity.
At the booth, visitors will have access to a system of professional promotional publications such as leaflets, brochures, and vivid presentation videos, introducing an overview of tourism potential, unique experiential tours, OCOP products, local specialties, as well as Lai Chau's unique cuisine.
In particular, Lai Chau province also organized a beautiful photo exhibition, introducing the majestic natural beauty, diverse culture and friendly people through artistic perspectives. In addition, Lai Chau also participated in the culinary demonstration area, bringing dishes with bold mountain flavors, helping visitors have the opportunity to enjoy and feel more clearly the characteristics of the culinary culture of ethnic minorities.
Lai Chau's booth is not only a place to promote tourism, but also a destination for cultural exchange, connecting tourists with the charming land and people of the Northwest.
