This morning, December 21, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the 32nd Diplomatic Conference - a plenary session on economic diplomacy for national development with the theme "Promoting the pioneering role, building a comprehensive, modern, and strong diplomacy, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress". The meeting was held in person and online. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the conference. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien attended the conference at the Quang Tri bridge.

Speaking at the meeting, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that since the National Foreign Affairs Conference and the 31st Diplomatic Conference, the world and regional situation has undergone major and complicated changes, with multi-dimensional impacts on the socio -economic development of our country.
In that context, the diplomatic sector has overcome many difficulties and challenges, and together with other sectors and levels, has synchronously and effectively deployed the pillars of foreign affairs and diplomacy. In the great general achievements of foreign affairs, there is a very important contribution of economic diplomacy. New trends in digital transformation, green transformation, along with the strong development of science and technology and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, are opening up great opportunities for our country to take the lead, develop and progress with the times.
The requirement for economic diplomacy is to maximize the country's new position and strength, take advantage of favorable international conditions and world development trends, strongly arouse national strength and effectively combine external resources, build an independent, self-reliant economy and deeply, comprehensively and effectively integrate into the international community, contributing to the successful implementation of the country's development vision and goals.

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended and acknowledged the achievements. At the same time, he requested ministries, branches and localities to have innovative, positive and effective thinking. The Prime Minister emphasized: 2024 will have many intertwined opportunities and challenges, so diplomacy needs to be proactive, close to the new situation; have a strategic vision.
