Scientific workshop "Building regulations for compiling Ninh Thuan Gazetteer"

On April 17, the Steering Committee of the project " Ninh Thuan Gazetteer" (ĐCNT) in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi organized a scientific workshop "Building regulations for compiling ĐCNT" in a direct and online format with connecting points in Hanoi.

Comrades: Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong chaired the workshop. Attending the workshop were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Tran Minh Nam, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; former provincial leaders; leaders of departments, branches, localities and members implementing the project.

The ĐCNT is managed by the Department of Science and Technology, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong is the host organization and the individual in charge of the project. The content of the ĐCNT is structured into one volume, 5 books (Geography - Administration, History, Culture, Ideology - Religion - National Defense - Security, Economy - Society), with 36 chapters; the implementation time is 16 months (from December 2023 to March 2025). The goal of compiling the ĐCNT is according to the standards of the National Geographical Record (ĐCQG) of Vietnam on the basis of recording, describing, and providing information in a complete, objective, and truthful manner. Based on the standards of the Vietnam National University, the goal of building the National University is to provide basic knowledge about natural geography, environment, people, history, politics , economy, society, and culture of Ninh Thuan today in general and specific relationships, in order to develop science, education, raise people's intellectual level, serve policy making, socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security, contribute to the completion of national science and technology tasks, especially building the Vietnam National University according to Decision No. 2079/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

Comrade Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and delegates attended the workshop.

At the workshop, delegates listened to presentations and discussed, agreed on the research structure, regulations for compiling provincial-level local histories in Vietnam; theoretical basis, methodology, research method, analytical framework and research purpose for compiling the Provincial Local History according to Vietnam's National Local History standards; agreed on the scale, structure, content, approved the section names and compilation requirements of each section in the Provincial Local History; criteria for selecting and compiling Ninh Thuan's local history characters; reached a consensus on complying with the standards of the Vietnam National Local History set, the general regulations of the local history sets (provincial histories) and specific regulations specific to the Provincial Local History.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee respectfully thanked Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong, and the members of the project implementation team for their interest and cooperation in supporting Ninh Thuan in the past time. Through the workshop, with the spirit of openness and the receptiveness of the project manager, he hoped that the upcoming contents and solutions to implement the project would continue to be effectively implemented, contributing to the development of science, technology and innovation, as well as the socio -economic development of the province. The project product will be printed, published and considered as one of the works to welcome the 15th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, which will take place in 2025. Therefore, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the project manager and members need to try their best to complete the product on schedule, ensuring the highest quality, and meeting the publishing conditions according to regulations.
