More than 5 thousand volunteers participated in the relay at the high school exam

Specifically, volunteers organize to welcome and support candidates and their families at the exam locations in the form of forming "0 VND volunteer motorbike taxi" teams to pick up and drop off candidates in difficult circumstances during the exam days - especially candidates with mobility difficulties, disabilities or no means of transportation; support candidates in cases such as forgetting exam papers, going to the wrong exam location, etc.

In addition, all testing sites have arranged areas to give away free essential items to candidates and their families such as drinking water, cakes, candies, school supplies, hand fans, etc.

In the 2024 high school graduation exam, more than 5,000 volunteers participated. The resources socialized by the City Youth Union - City Student Association were more than 38,000 gifts and nearly 30,000 boxes of cakes and candies; more than 6,000 boxes of various drinks; 10,000 hand-held fans and hundreds of large umbrellas, pens... with a total resource value of more than 5 billion VND.

Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Student Association of Hanoi Nguyen Tien Hung said that in preparation for the "Supporting the Exam Season" campaign in 2024, the City Youth Union - Student Association had previously organized training for 1,000 Youth Union - Association officials from universities, colleges, academies, districts, towns, high schools and continuing education centers to thoroughly grasp the policies and key contents in the Campaign Implementation Plan; at the same time, equipping the necessary knowledge and skills for Youth Union - Association officials at all levels, team leaders, deputy team leaders and youth volunteers participating in campaign activities.

Regarding volunteer recruitment, during the high school graduation exam, the City Youth Union - Student Association selected and trained more than 5,000 volunteers to participate in supporting the exam season at 196 exam locations, ensuring the arrangement of 15 - 20 volunteers outside the school gate during the exam; participating in traffic diversion, guiding candidates to ensure a safe distance, guiding candidates to find the exam room location; supporting drinking water, guiding and directing candidates into the exam room.

In particular, the City Youth Union - City Student Association implemented the project "Green Shirts for Teachers to Go to School", which includes free tutoring for 9th and 12th graders to help them quickly review for exams, helping them regain confidence and knowledge to prepare for the exams. There were 210 disadvantaged students who were reviewed and 290 students volunteered to be tutors.

During the exam, the Working Group of the City Youth Union - City Student Association regularly inspected and monitored the performance of the teams at the exam sites of 30 districts, towns and city unions to promptly correct and remind volunteers when they did not properly perform their tasks.

It is known that after the high school graduation exam, the City Youth Union - Student Association will review students with difficult circumstances to promptly support and create conditions for them to enroll in school; contact schools to arrange dormitory accommodation; award "Support to school" scholarships...
