More than 500 teachers around the world have more motivation to teach Vietnamese in foreign countries.

More than 500 teachers and students from 30 countries and territories were motivated after completing a training course on teaching Vietnamese to Vietnamese children abroad.

On September 20, the closing ceremony of the training course on Vietnamese language teaching methods for Vietnamese children abroad took place online in a solemn atmosphere. The program was attended by representatives of Vietnamese diplomatic agencies in many countries, expert advisory boards, lecturers and more than 500 teachers from 30 countries and territories.

The program is organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka (Japan) and the Global Network for Teaching Vietnamese and Preserving Vietnamese Culture.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ms. Vu Chi Mai, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka (Japan) said: "Preserving and spreading the Vietnamese language in the overseas Vietnamese community is a sacred task, connecting the young generation with their roots. Representative agencies will continue to accompany, connect and support practical initiatives like this program."

From Thailand, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh (Khon Kaen) affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Thailand has a long history, and teaching Vietnamese to the younger generation is always a concern for the people.

This training course is a valuable opportunity for teachers from many countries to learn modern methods, closely connected with the country. This is an important foundation to jointly preserve the Vietnamese language and nurture love for the homeland in the hearts of the young generation.

Not only a summation, the closing ceremony also became a space for lecturers and students to express their feelings after nearly two months of attachment. The stories, experiences and sincere sharing affirmed the meaning of the training course, fostering a sense of responsibility and love for the Vietnamese language.

Representative of the advisory board, Professor Nguyen Minh Thuyet expressed: "I am very moved to witness the serious participation of more than 500 teachers around the world . Although we are teaching in a faraway country, each of us has the same passion to preserve and pass on the Vietnamese language to the younger generation. I believe that this solidarity and sharing will create great strength so that the Vietnamese language will always be cherished, respected and echoed throughout the five continents."

According to the summary, the training course had 5 key online sessions with practical content. More than 500 teachers and students attended from 30 countries and territories. Hundreds of lessons were sent back, contributing to the formation of a common resource for teaching. The teaching staff included: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Thuyet, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Thi, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Cam Lan, Dr. Nguyen Khanh Ha.

Representative of the students, Venerable Thich Phap Quang, abbot of Truc Lam Zen Monastery in Sri Lanka, shared: "The Vietnamese community in Sri Lanka is only about 200 people, but we still maintain 3 Vietnamese classes with more than 60 students. Thanks to this training course, we have access to a systematic curriculum and learn modern methods from experienced instructors. Above all, we also have the opportunity to exchange and learn valuable experiences from teachers around the world, which is a great source of motivation to continue preserving the Vietnamese language in Sri Lanka."

At the closing ceremony, the organizing committee also announced a series of upcoming activities such as: the official launch of the Global Network for Teaching Vietnamese Language and Culture, connecting online globally on September 29.

Develop a "Map of Vietnamese classes worldwide" to serve as a basis for planning support policies. Cooperate with the Post and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) to digitize documents, develop electronic science resources, and apply information technology in teaching. Organize advanced training and periodic consultation to support overseas teachers and share practical experiences.

With the motto: "Global solidarity - Respect for diversity - Encourage appropriate solutions in each country/region", the network hopes to become a strong bridge between the Vietnamese language teaching community abroad and in the country.
