Better than each other in heart

Upon hearing the news that a villager was unfortunately involved in a traffic accident and was in critical condition, the entire Thanh Quyt 4 block (An Thang ward) without anyone telling them to, unanimously joined hands to contribute money, contribute effort and share every part of the work with the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Ly.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Ly (36 years old) is the main breadwinner in a family of 5. Her husband works as a construction worker far from home with an unstable income, and the couple raises three small children.

Every day, at 2am, Ms. Ly wakes up early to get fish and shrimp from her regular customers at the wholesale market, then returns to sell at Thanh Quyt market to support her children's education. The villagers and the traders at Thanh Quyt market all love this petite woman who always has a gentle smile and is ready to help others.

The incident suddenly happened one morning on the way to get fish to sell, Ms. Ly unfortunately had a serious traffic accident. The strong collision with the truck caused her to have a brain hemorrhage, severe lung and spleen damage, and a deep coma.

Due to difficult circumstances and the need to take care of her children, Ms. Ly has not purchased health insurance, so all treatment costs are paid by the family. Up to now, the hospital and surgery costs have exceeded the family's ability.

Faced with Ms. Ly's dire situation, the people of Thanh Quyt 4 block joined hands to contribute money and effort with the sole wish to save the life of that hard-working mother.

Organizations such as women's associations, youth unions, and neighborhood groups quickly mobilized and raised donations. A group of young people even posted on social media, calling on the community to join hands to help.

Mr. Truong Cong Phat, Head of Thanh Quyt 4 Ward, shared: "Immediately after receiving information that Ms. Ly had a serious accident and her family was unable to pay the hospital fees, we met with departments, branches, and organizations in the ward to mobilize people to join hands to help. What moved me was the strong and voluntary response from the people.

The block will continue to call for social resources, connect with benefactors, and have a plan to provide long-term support for Ms. Ly's children during their studies, so that they do not have to interrupt their schooling."

When things seemed to be at a dead end, the outstretched hands from Thanh Quyt 4 block became the biggest support for the whole family.

In less than a week of calling, the People's Committee of the block, Thanh Quyt 4 Women's Association, together with the support of anonymous individuals and Thanh Quyt market traders, mobilized a total donation of more than 70 million VND through both bank transfer and direct cash.

This money was partly used for emergency and intensive treatment at the hospital.

Neighborhood love has shone brightly in Thanh Quyt village. Timely sharing and spreading kindness have created miracles to help save a life and give hope to a small family.
