The Institute of Accounting and Auditing, National Economics University, in collaboration with ICAEW and BDO Consulting Vietnam, organized a career orientation and sharing session for new CFAB9-K67 students.

Under the cooperation agreement, BDO and ICAEW will coordinate to organize career orientation programs, professional skills workshops, and many training support activities to help SAA students fully equip themselves to confidently enter the labor market and develop their careers in the fields of accounting, auditing, and finance. The highlight of the tripartite cooperation is the internship program at BDO Kuala Lumpur office, Malaysia and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for final-year students of SAA studying the ICAEW CFAB integrated certificate program. Here, they will be trained, guided in professional knowledge, and practice soft skills in a professional and multinational working environment.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Mok Chew Yin, representative of BDO, emphasized: “Today's signing ceremony marks an important step forward in the common mission of the three parties: developing a new generation of leaders in the fields of accounting, auditing and finance. For BDO, this is a special opportunity to connect with promising young talents, while contributing to building high-quality human resources for the region. In the past, we have also cooperated with ICAEW in Vietnam through recruiting graduates, creating conditions for them to be trained and develop their careers in Vietnam and Malaysia.”

Sharing about the signing of the tripartite cooperation, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Anh, Director of the Institute of Accounting and Auditing, NEU, emphasized that this event will bring many practical values to students of the Bachelor of Accounting/Auditing Program in English integrated with the ICAEW CFAB International Certificate. “Students will have the opportunity to experience the international working environment at BDO - one of the world's leading auditing firms, currently ranked 5th globally with a network in more than 165 countries. “At the same time, international standard training programs from ICAEW and BDO will equip students with the necessary knowledge and professional skills, helping them to be confident and ready to enter the labor market immediately after graduation,” Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Anh added.

The Bachelor of Accounting/Auditing program in English with integrated ICAEW CFAB international certificate has been implemented by SAA - NEU in cooperation with ICAEW since 2017. After graduating, students will receive a dual degree including a Bachelor of Accounting/Auditing in English from NEU and an International Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business from ICAEW (ICAEW CFAB). A prominent advantage of students studying this program is that they are given early internship opportunities, domestic and international job opportunities through ICAEW's network of ATEs partner businesses worldwide.

To date, the Bachelor of Accounting/Auditing program in English with integrated ICAEW CFAB international certificate at NEU has trained 5 batches of graduates, with about 350 graduates. According to statistics, most of them are working at multinational companies, large domestic enterprises and the world's leading auditing companies. Some of them are currently working in countries in the region under the cooperation program with ICAEW's partner enterprises.

At the same time, this MoU continues to demonstrate the parties' continuous efforts in improving the quality of training according to international standards, making a practical contribution to Vietnam's goal of building a high-quality workforce, ready for the future and enhancing the competitiveness of the financial, accounting and auditing services industry in the globally integrated economy. This is also an important step in the process of successfully implementing the goal of making Vietnam an international financial center in the region and globally.
