Gia Vien District (Ninh Binh): Opening of the Nguyen Temple Festival and receiving the title of National Intangible Cultural Heritage

(CLO) On the morning of April 6, 2025, at the National Architectural and Artistic Relic of the Nguyen Temple, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Vien district held the opening ceremony of the Nguyen Temple Festival and received the title of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the Nguyen Temple Festival 2025 announced Decision No. 3986/QD-BVHTTDL dated December 10, 2024 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on recognizing the Nguyen Temple Festival as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong presented the Certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nguyen Temple Festival to a representative of Tien Thang commune.

In his opening speech, Mr. Pham Van Tam, Chairman of the District People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Nguyen Temple Festival in 2025, said: "The cultural heritage related to National Master Nguyen Minh Khong in general, the intangible heritage of the Nguyen Temple Traditional Festival in particular, is a priceless asset. The longer it is over and the more it is exploited, the greater its value will be, even greater when the values ​​of this heritage are deeply rooted in the spiritual and cultural life of the people, becoming the foundation of morality, social culture, creating a driving force to build the culture of Gia Vien people, Ninh Binh , contributing to the cause of building an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity, meeting the requirements of protecting, building and developing the country - the period of the Nation's rise.

Coming to the Nguyen Temple Festival this year, delegates, people and tourists will learn about the unique architecture of the Later Le Dynasty of the National Architectural Monument of Nguyen Temple, learn about the medicinal herb garden of Pharmacist Nguyen Minh Khong and especially enjoy the unique spiritual cultural space of 13 traditional rituals showing respect for Saint Nguyen Minh Khong; and participate in experiencing many unique and attractive folk festival contents..."

At the opening ceremony, leaders of Gia Vien district beat drums and gongs to open the Nguyen Temple Festival 2025.

Mr. Pham Van Tam, Chairman of the District People's Committee, sounded the gong to open the festival.

Mr. Le Van Cuong, Secretary of the District Party Committee, beat the drum to open the festival.

At the opening ceremony, there was a special art program with the theme: "The legend of Ly Quoc Su Minh Khong's eternal manifestation - Gia Vien brightens a countryside".

On this occasion, the Festival Organizing Committee distributed 960 herbal medicine bags to the people and tourists and 960 yellow camellia trees - Ninh Binh's Holy Flower to the Management Boards of the relics of temples and pagodas worshiping Duc Thanh, bronze casting villages, hospitals, medical units and ancient medicinal herb vats of Gia Vien at the gate of Vong Lau - the old house where Duc Thanh studied with his teacher, where the imprints of the Thach Dang Tree and the Stone Book Tree remain.

Previously, central leaders, provincial leaders, leaders of departments and branches of the province and Gia Vien district offered incense to express gratitude, commemorate and celebrate the 960th birthday of Saint Nguyen (1065-2025).
