Connecting Scientists with Businesses: The Golden Key to Bringing Inventions to Life

On December 18, 2024, the Vietnam Invention Association in collaboration with Hanoi Medical University organized the Open Innovation and Invention Forum for the development of Vietnam's pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.

At the Forum, delegates proposed ideas and wished to strengthen cooperation with businesses so that inventions can be effectively applied in life. Among them, we can mention the invention of SCP nano complex with the ability to kill bacteria in medical facilities by Dr. Tran Thi Ngoc Dung - Head of Environmental Technology Department, Institute of Environmental Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

Or another invention also from the nano silver complex, used in wound care and treatment for elderly patients, diabetic patients with ulcers, that is the wound cleaning solution and wound dressing...

According to experts, Vietnam is witnessing important steps in the development of science and technology, however, the application of inventions to real life is still a difficult problem. Barriers such as investment costs, lack of suitable business partners and the lack of a clear roadmap and plan to bring inventions to market are the main problems. Therefore, in order for scientific research to not be "buried" in articles or conference documents, there needs to be a connection between scientists and businesses to turn inventions into useful products in life.

Associate Professor Dr. Kim Bao Giang - Vice Rector of Hanoi Medical University said that the University is increasing investment in scientific research, especially in the field of medical inventions. In the future, the University will promote research to ensure that inventions can be applied quickly and effectively.

Mr. Vu Manh Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam Invention Association emphasized that the coordination between scientists and businesses is the key to reducing production costs and increasing patients' access to domestic inventions. Through this connection, businesses not only help bring inventions closer to users but also increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese science and technology products in the international arena. The connection between scientists and businesses not only solves the problem of applying science to life, but also contributes to enhancing sustainable development for the economy and society.
