(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On July 7, a short circuit and fire broke out on the 110kV Nong Cong - Nghi Son line in Truc Lam ward, causing widespread power outages, affecting the production activities of several factories in Nghi Son Economic Zone. Immediately afterward, Thanh Hoa Electricity Company coordinated with local authorities and functional forces to approach the scene, handle the incident and focus on troubleshooting.

The incident broke the phase C line at about column 133 - 134 on the 110kV Nong Cong - Nghi Son line.

The 110kV Nong Cong - Nghi Son line plays an important role in supplying electricity to Nghi Son Cement Factory, Cong Thanh Cement Factory and the 110kV transformer station in Nghi Son Economic Zone.

At 3:50 p.m. on July 7, a short circuit and fire occurred on the 110kV Nong Cong - Nghi Son line in Truc Lam ward. The initial cause was determined to be that people were illegally harvesting acacia trees outside the power grid safety corridor without notifying the electricity industry. During the tree cutting process, the tree fell onto the line, causing a short circuit and fire.

Although the incident did not cause any human damage, it broke the C-phase line at pole 133 - 134; some acacia trees near the area were also burned due to the discharge phenomenon.

About 30 minutes after the incident, Thanh Hoa Electricity Company transferred the power supply from Nong Cong 220kV station to Nghi Son 220kV station to ensure uninterrupted power supply to factories.

Along with that, Thanh Hoa Electricity Company has deployed plans in accordance with the incident handling process, quickly implementing solutions to ensure timely power supply for business production activities and people's lives in Nghi Son Economic Zone.

The company also coordinated with Thanh Hoa Provincial Police and Truc Lam Ward Police to investigate and clarify violations for handling according to regulations.

On the same morning, Truc Lam ward authorities worked with 4 households whose trees violated the power grid corridor, asking people to cooperate with the electricity industry to clear the road and ensure safe operation of the power grid.

However, due to the complex mountainous terrain, scattered population, and widespread forestry practices, the management of power grid corridors is still difficult. Some households arbitrarily plant trees near the corridors or do not cooperate in cutting and trimming trees in violation. Therefore, at some times, incidents occur that affect the stable power supply to the areas, especially during the hot and rainy seasons.

In the coming time, Thanh Hoa Electricity Company will continue to closely coordinate with authorities at all levels to strengthen inspection and strictly handle violations according to the provisions of law. At the same time, promote propaganda to raise public awareness, contribute to protecting the safety of the power system, serving the task of socio-economic development in the area.

On July 7, workers from the High Voltage Power Grid Enterprise (Thanh Hoa Electricity Company) also deployed to cut and trim all trees that were at risk of affecting the safety corridor of the power grid.

By 5:00 p.m. the same day, the incident was completely resolved, and the entire load of the 110kV Nong Cong - Nghi Son line was re-energized according to the original wiring method.

The electricity industry recommends that people absolutely do not build structures, plant trees or fly kites near high-voltage power lines. Violating the safety corridor of the power grid not only causes economic losses but also poses a potential safety risk to the people themselves.
