The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism is coordinating with Vietnam Airlines Corporation, travel agencies, and accommodation establishments to implement a preferential plan to encourage night flights to Ho Chi Minh City.
Faced with the high demand for travel during this summer peak, airlines have had to make efforts to optimize their fleets, service staff, and increase night flights. Thereby, contributing to "cooling down" airfares. However, in reality, night flights are not really attractive to passengers, so many flights have to be canceled. On July 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism met and discussed with Vietnam Airlines , travel agencies, and accommodation establishments to implement a plan to encourage night flights, in order to exploit these flights more effectively.

Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines Corporation encourages tourist accommodation establishments to participate in building a product package combining air tickets (some routes with reasonable and attractive prices before 6am and after 9pm), through free or 80% discount for the first night of a customer's stay at the accommodation establishments (minimum stay of 3 nights). As of July 8, 16 tourist accommodation establishments in Ho Chi Minh City have registered to participate in the plan, with a reduction of 20% to 100% of the room price for the first night of the customer according to the listed price, from the second night the listed price is applied or 60% discount according to the listed price (depending on each unit, the policy and conditions of application are regulated differently). Specifically, Dong Khanh Hotel (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) reduces 100% of the room price for the first night, from the second night the room price is calculated 100%. The Myst Hotel (District 1, HCMC) reduces the first night's room rate by 49%, from the second night onwards, the room rate is reduced by 53%. Muong Thanh Luxury Saigon Hotel (Phu Nhuan, HCMC) reduces the first night's room rate by 45%, from the second night the listed price applies, free one-way airport transfer by 7-seat car, between 10:00 and 22:00 on the check-out date (with a minimum stay of 3 nights). Liberty Central Saigon Hotel System (3 locations: Riverside, Citypoint, Center) reduces the first night's room rate by 50%, from the second night onwards the listed price applies. A25 Hotel System (6 locations) has created 2 promotional packages, including a 2-day, 2-night stay package: 50% reduction in the first night's room rate and 20% reduction for the second night; 3-day 3-night accommodation package: 70% off the first night's room rate and 20% off the second night. Based on the registration of 16 units, Vietnam Airlines Corporation will proactively contact and work to develop packages including round-trip airfare and 2 or 3 nights' stay at hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to attract more tourists to Ho Chi Minh City in 2024. According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in the first 5 months of this year alone, the number of international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City reached about 2.28 million. Of which, the number of domestic visitors was about 14 million, reaching 36.8% of the 2024 plan. Sharing with Dan Tri reporter about the tourism situation in Ho Chi Minh City in recent times, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism - said that according to preliminary statistics, the number of visitors to Ho Chi Minh City and the length of stay as well as their spending here are constantly increasing.
