Opening of Basketball Tournament, a pre-sport event for the 12th National Sports Congress, 2026

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Tan Minh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Hoang Hiep - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; comrades who are members of the Steering Committee, Organizing Committee of the Sports Festival; representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of departments, branches and units under the Department and athletes, referees, press agencies in the province.

Participating in the pre-conference basketball tournament were 04 units with 11 teams with nearly 100 officers, coaches, and athletes from the Department of Education and Training, Tuan Giao commune, Muong Thanh ward, and Dien Bien Phu ward; at the tournament, athletes competed in the men's team 5x5, 3x3, and women's team 3x3.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Nguyen Hoang Hiep emphasized "...I believe that the athletes from 11 football teams of the Education and Training sector, Tuan Giao commune, Muong Thanh ward, Dien Bien Phu ward, will compete with all their might, dedicating to the audience truly exciting matches, many beautiful moves with high professional quality, demonstrating the spirit of Sportsmanship - Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility with the motto of the Congress "Faster - Higher - Stronger..."
