On October 23, due to the influence of a tropical depression (weakened from storm No. 12), Nhu Nguyet Street on the west bank of the Han River, near the foot of Thuan Phuoc Bridge (Hai Chau Ward) continued to be affected by large waves from Da Nang Bay, damaging some sections of the sidewalk.
Railings and benches were damaged by the waves. The pavement tiles were peeled off and washed onto the road surface.

Previously, due to the heavy rain of storm No. 12, the Han River rose, causing the above area to be partially flooded on October 21 and 22.
Currently, Hai Chau ward has barricaded part of Nhu Nguyet street in the area where the incident occurred, and is urgently cleaning up and temporarily reinforcing vulnerable points along the west bank of the Han River, placing danger warning signs and standing guard to ensure people's safety.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 22, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam inspected and surveyed the embankment and sidewalk of Nhu Nguyet Street that were damaged by strong waves.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee directed the construction unit of the Nhu Nguyet street embankment to concentrate forces and materials to urgently repair the damaged embankment and sidewalk after the storm ends.
In September 2025, the project to overcome the impact of storms, high tides, and waves on Nhu Nguyet Street, invested by the Department of Construction with a total investment of about 12.4 billion VND, was started. The project is expected to be completed in November 2025.
The project will repair damaged sidewalks; improve the drainage system; and add and raise the structure of the top of the revetment wall in the shape of a wave-sweeping nose to overcome the effects of storms, high tides, and the impact of sea waves on Nhu Nguyet Street, ensuring urban aesthetics and creating a highlight for the area.
