Car driver prosecuted for beating people in front of Tu Du Hospital gate

The Investigation Police Agency of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City has initiated a case, prosecuted and detained Quach Minh Nhut (33 years old, residing in District 6) for 2 months for the crime of Intentional Infliction of Injury.

The above decisions and orders have been approved by District 1 People's Procuracy.

Initial information, at about 1:40 p.m. on December 14, 2024, Mr. TTT (50 years old, residing in District 1) drove a motorbike to take his child to school, traveling on Cong Quynh Street in the direction from Pham Viet Chanh to Nguyen Thi Minh Khai.

When arriving at the gate of Tu Du Hospital, Mr. T. saw the car driven by Quach Minh Nhut moving slowly in the motorbike lane, causing traffic obstruction.

At the intersection of Cong Quynh - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, the traffic light turned red, Mr. T. stopped waiting for the light.

When the green light turned on, Mr. T. asked Nhut to drive the car out of the motorbike lane to give way.

However, Nhut suddenly opened the car door, walked towards Mr. T. and used his hand to hit Mr. T.'s face, head and the back of his neck, causing his helmet to fall to the road. Nhut then continued to hit Mr. T.'s face with his hand.

Two women traveling in the car with Nhat got out to stop the attack and helped Nhat back into the car before leaving the scene.

Shocked by the incident, Mr. T. asked passersby to report to the Pham Ngu Lao Ward Police, District 1. The ward police quickly filed a case and transferred the case to the District 1 Police Investigation Agency for handling.

On December 16, District 1 Police invited Quach Minh Nhut to work to clarify the violation.
