The 25-year-old man went to Khanh Hoa General Hospital for emergency treatment, then requested to be transferred to another medical facility for treatment. While hospital staff were processing the request, he assaulted a nurse.

On June 23, the Investigation Police Agency of Khanh Hoa Province Police announced that it had decided to temporarily detain Vo Quoc Viet (25 years old, residing in Xuan Dong Commune, Dien Khanh District, Khanh Hoa Province) for attacking and assaulting medical staff.

Previously, at around 9:00 p.m. on June 22, Vo Quoc Viet was taken to Khanh Hoa General Hospital for emergency treatment by a man.

At around 10:30 p.m. the same day, after examining him, the doctors determined that Viet's health was normal. However, Viet kept complaining about feeling unwell.

When the doctor explained that if he wanted to be admitted to the hospital, he would have to use a folding bed due to the large number of patients, Viet refused. Viet asked the ambulance to take him to another hospital in Nha Trang.

While the emergency department staff at Khanh Hoa General Hospital were contacting the man accompanying him to resolve the incident, Viet got angry and punched a nurse on duty in the face.

Seeing Viet's hooliganism and attacking medical staff while on duty, the doctors and nurses coordinated with security forces at the emergency department to control and prevent him and reported to the Loc Tho Ward Police to handle the situation.

At the police station, Vo Quoc Viet confessed all his actions.
