DEADLINE
Yorgos Lanthimos and the cast including Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn… left the auditorium while the applause continued.
Kinds of Kindness tells three distinctive stories, each with a different cast playing different roles. The film – like many of Lanthimos’s pioneering films – is full of twists and turns, as well as some quirky moments accompanied by Emma Stone’s breakdancing moves. There’s also food that’s not for the faint of heart, as well as a series of graphic mutilations and violence that may be disturbing to some. There’s a sense of humor sprinkled throughout, which the Cannes audience seemed to enjoy.

Stars arrived on the red carpet ahead of the film's grand premiere, with Lanthimos joined by Emma Stone, along with Dafoe (who starred in Poor Things ), Plemons, Alwyn, Hong Chau, Mamoudou Athie and Qualley.
Lanthimos is no stranger to Cannes, having previously premiered films like The Lobster and The Killing of a Sacred Deer at Cannes. However, recent films like The Favourite and Poor Things both premiered at Venice, serving as a springboard for his award-winning careers. Searchlight Pictures, which distributed both films, said Kinds of Kindness will be released worldwide on June 21.
Kinds of Kindness is one of the most prominent debuts at Cannes alongside Furiousa - the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel directed by George Miller and the premiere of Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis .
