Total retail sales and consumer service revenue in September increased by more than 11%

The General Statistics Office (Ministry of Finance) informed that total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue in September 2025 is estimated to increase by 11.3% over the same period last year.

Total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue at current prices in September 2025 is estimated at VND 598.7 trillion, up 2% over the previous month and up 11.3% over the same period last year.

Of which, revenue from the garment group increased by 15.2% over the same period last year; food and foodstuffs increased by 13.8%; cultural and educational items increased by 11.4%; household appliances, tools and equipment increased by 10%; accommodation and catering services increased by 15% and tourism and travel increased by 19.7%.

In the third quarter of 2025 alone, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices is estimated at VND 1,759.1 trillion, up 2.6% over the previous quarter and up 10.1% over the same period last year.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices is estimated at VND 5,176 trillion, an increase of 9.5% over the same period last year (the same period in 2024 increased by 8.8%), if excluding the price factor, it increased by 7.2% (the same period in 2024 increased by 5.8%).

Of which, in the first 9 months of 2025, retail sales of goods are estimated at 3,947.9 trillion VND, up 8.3% over the same period last year.

Retail sales of goods in the first 9 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year in some localities increased sharply such as: Da Nang increased by 9.4%; Can Tho increased by 8.8%; Hanoi increased by 8.4%; Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong both increased by 8.3%.
