Approaching growth target
According to the socio -economic situation report of Da Nang Statistics, the city's GRDP growth in the third quarter of 2025 is estimated at 9.45%, bringing the growth rate of the first 9 months of 2025 to 9.83% compared to the same period in 2024. This is a high growth rate, reflecting the acceleration in most sectors, especially services and construction, two important driving forces of the city. With this growth rate, Da Nang ranked 7th out of 34 provinces and centrally run cities.
The city's GRDP scale in the first 9 months of 2025 is estimated to reach VND 228,800 billion, an increase of VND 27,000 billion over the same period in 2024 and continues to maintain its position as 11th out of 34 provinces and cities. This shows that Da Nang's economy is developing stably, ensuring a growth rate accompanied by a significant contribution to the country's gross domestic product (GDP).
At the same time, it affirmed that Da Nang not only focuses on rapid growth but also aims for sustainable development, balancing between expanding the scale and improving the quality of the economy.
In terms of economic structure, the added value of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector decreased from 8.36% to 7.63%; the industry and construction sector increased from 25.19% to 26.59%; the service sector increased from 54.6% to 55.51%, continuing to dominate the GRDP scale.
The city's economic structure is showing the characteristics of a developed industrial - service urban area with high connectivity, with services playing a leading role, industry as the foundation and agriculture gradually transforming towards high technology and ecology.
The pillar areas affirm their role.
Da Nang's trade and service sector continues to affirm its role as a pillar of GRDP growth, and positively spreads to related industries. In the first 9 months, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached VND 188,887 billion, up 23.8% over the same period in 2024.
In addition, the transportation, warehousing, postal and delivery sectors continued to maintain stable growth, with a cumulative 9-month revenue of nearly VND29,650 billion, up 12.8% over the same period, thereby strengthening the role of connection and support for the city's trade and service sectors.
Import-export activities continue to record positive changes, becoming an important driving force for local socio-economic growth, with a total two-way turnover estimated at 6.78 billion USD, an increase of 12.7% over the same period in 2024. The city not only affirms its role as a production - trade - logistics service center of the Central region, but also achieves a trade surplus of nearly 185 million USD, creating important room for sustainable economic growth.
The industrial and construction sector has affirmed its new pillar role in Da Nang after the administrative unit merger, especially in the context of the city promoting economic restructuring towards industrialization and modernization associated with sustainable development.
In the first 9 months of 2025, the added value of the industrial and construction sector is estimated to increase by 11.82% over the same period in 2024. This not only reflects the rise of industrial production and the excitement of urban construction, but also affirms the key role of this sector in creating growth momentum, expanding the scale and improving the quality of economic development of Da Nang.
Implement many key tasks
The City People's Committee has built a growth scenario for 2025 of 10% or more, in which the service sector will achieve a full-year growth rate of about 10.4%; the industrial - construction sector will be about 13.2%; the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector will be about 3.3%; and product tax minus product subsidies will be about 5.19%.
To maintain growth momentum and achieve the target of double-digit GRDP growth, according to Da Nang Chief Statistician Tran Van Vu, the city needs to continue implementing many synchronous solutions. Among them, continuing to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital and key infrastructure projects; diversifying and improving the quality of cultural, entertainment and event services, exploiting the strengths of an "event city".
The city will quickly complete the upgrading and expansion of Tien Sa port, Lien Chieu port and Da Nang international airport to meet the demand for goods and passengers; increase support for businesses to stabilize production and reduce costs; promote the application of high technology in cultivation and livestock breeding, expand the organic agricultural model, and link production with traceability to meet consumer and tourism needs.
Director of the City Department of Finance Tran Thi Thanh Tam said that the city is focusing on implementing key tasks, such as supporting and maintaining stable production and business; speeding up the implementation and disbursement of the 2025 public investment capital plan; and implementing planning management, urban planning, and environmental protection.
Continue to reform administrative procedures, improve the investment and business environment to promote investment attraction; carry out foreign affairs and international cooperation well; increase revenue, expenditure and budget management and administration.
“The city identifies public investment as an important lever, so the department and related units continue to focus on implementing solutions to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital plans; urge and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles to soon complete, start construction, and speed up the construction progress of public investment works and projects as committed,” said Ms. Tam.
