In the third quarter and September of 2025, the world situation continued to fluctuate in a complex and unpredictable manner, with many difficulties and challenges; the province suffered three consecutive storms with heavy rain, strong winds, and a wide range of influence, causing severe damage to infrastructure, production activities, and people's lives.
In that context, all levels and sectors continue to carry out many key tasks with a large workload, while focusing on preventing, responding to, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

With great efforts, in general, the socio-economic situation in the province in the third quarter and the first 9 months of the year achieved positive results. According to the announcement of the General Statistics Office (Ministry of Finance), economic growth was quite good, the growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the third quarter is estimated to increase by 8.62%.
That result brought the 9-month growth rate to an estimated 8.61%, ranking 11th out of 34 provinces and cities and 2nd in the North Central sub-region (after Hue city), higher than the 8.49% increase in the same period in 2024, approaching the scenario of 8.96-9.61%.
In which, the industrial - construction sector continues to be the main driving force with growth momentum remaining high, estimated at 13.73% in 9 months, of which the industrial sector alone increased by 15.15%.
The service sector continued to maintain stability with a growth rate of 7.63%. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue is estimated at nearly VND130,366 billion, up 15.07% over the same period.
Export turnover of goods is estimated at 3.268 billion USD, up 40%. Total number of tourists is about 8.81 million, up 5%, tourism revenue is estimated at 10,520 billion VND, up 3%.

However, in Nghe An's growth picture, the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector was heavily affected by the effects of storms and floods, especially in the third quarter, which is the period of concentrated summer-autumn crop production. Many areas of crops were damaged, more than 30,000 hectares of rice were flooded and collapsed, affecting crop output and productivity.
In general, in the first 9 months, the agricultural sector grew by 3.35%, lower than the growth scenario of 4.55-4.56%, and in the third quarter alone, it only grew by 1.25%.
State budget collection in Nghe An province achieved outstanding results, 9 months of implementation reached 20,015 billion VND, up 13% compared to the estimate, up 30% over the same period.
In the context of many economic difficulties, this is a remarkable result, demonstrating the efforts of all levels and sectors, especially the Tax sector, in revenue management.
