Kuwait appoints new Crown Prince, China calls for dialogue with EU, US-Japan-South Korea plan trilateral exercises

NDTV. Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Sabah appointed former Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled al-Hamad al-Sabah as the new Crown Prince.

REUTERS. Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned the Chinese ambassador to protest a statement between Beijing and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the Gulf islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb.

Xinhua News Agency. Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao said Beijing is willing to engage in dialogue to resolve trade frictions with the EU and will take all necessary measures to protect the legitimate interests of Chinese companies.

REUTERS. China's Foreign Ministry announced that Beijing and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) stressed their willingness to exchange experiences in defense and security, aiming to improve the capabilities of military personnel and security organizations in the two countries.
