Lam Dong: 24 localities suffered damage due to the impact of storm No. 3

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province, as of 9:30 a.m. on July 22, the whole province recorded 24 localities suffering damage due to the impact of storm No. 3 and rain accompanied by tornadoes.

According to statistics, up to this point, 2 people were injured, 3 houses were severely damaged, 73 houses were partially damaged. Notably, since July 20, rain and whirlwinds have caused heavy damage to agricultural production in the province. Of which, 5 hectares of perennial trees and 1.17 hectares of vegetables were severely damaged.

In addition, 2.58 hectares of greenhouses and 17.2 hectares of net houses were damaged. The rain and whirlwind also broke and felled 18 electric poles, 4 welcome gates, signboards, and damaged 3 cars; 2 landslides and landslide risks.

Durian fruit fell off in Quang Khe commune

Specifically, in Quang Khe commune, through inspection and review, 8 households growing durian in Quang Long village, Quang Khe commune were affected, with an estimated 17.5 tons of durian fruit falling off.

Based on the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the sectors and localities promptly directed, inspected and quickly handled incidents and promptly supported affected people.

Up to this point, localities have been urgently calculating the damage to support people to overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters according to regulations. In cases beyond their capacity, localities will synthesize proposed damages and send them to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for synthesis and reporting to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and support.

In addition, the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones, together with the police, military , and local shock forces, promptly supported people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, stabilizing their lives; handling fallen trees, ensuring traffic, and restoring the power grid.

It is known that from 10:00 on July 21 until now, in Lam Dong province there has been scattered rain from light to moderate rain. Rainfall measured in Da Huoai area reached 31mm, Bao Lam 27mm, Bao Loc pass 23mm, Da Lat 10mm.

Rainfall was concentrated around 7-8pm on July 21; on the morning of July 22, the rain had significantly reduced. Wind speed has now decreased compared to July 21. On the night of July 21, the wind was level 3-4, on the morning of July 22, the wind was level 2-3. In Phu Quy Special Zone, the wind decreased to level 5-6.
