Lam Dong examines and treats more than 4.1 million people

On the afternoon of October 2, Lam Dong Department of Health held an in-person and online conference to evaluate the work results of the first 9 months of 2025 and propose key tasks and solutions for the last 3 months of the year.

In the first 9 months of 2025, units in the entire provincial health sector have basically implemented and ensured the targets assigned by the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and Provincial People's Committee.

The epidemic situation in the area is basically under control; diseases such as malaria and plague have been controlled and pushed back; the management of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, leprosy, and HIV has been maintained effectively. At the same time, the management and treatment of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer have been widely deployed in 124/124 communes, wards, and special zones. The work of ensuring food safety for people and tourists to Lam Dong has also been well implemented.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Huynh, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, reported on the implementation of digital transformation in healthcare, electronic health records, and electronic medical records at the Conference.

The province’s medical examination and treatment work has seen many positive changes. Hospitals in the province have been able to treat many complex and specialized diseases, contributing to limiting referrals and gradually developing high-quality medical services.

In the first 9 months of the year, Lam Dong province's health system examined 4,147,377 patients (up 2.88% over the same period, reaching 75.73% of the yearly plan), and performed 43,109 surgeries. The whole province had 328,635 inpatients (up 5.3%), with nearly 2 million days of treatment; the average treatment time was nearly 6 days/patient.

The total bed occupancy rate in the province reached 85.3%, an increase of 17.9% over the same period. Many units exceeded 100% of their capacity, such as: Lam Dong General Hospital (106.2%), Binh Thuan Regional General Hospital (104.5%), Bac Binh Thuan Regional General Hospital (102.2%), Tanh Linh Medical Center (105.1%), Cu Jut Medical Center (115%) and Di Linh Medical Center (107.5%).

The whole province currently has 307 medical facilities participating in health insurance examination and treatment, with diverse models from provincial hospitals, commune health stations to private hospitals and clinics.

In the coming time, Director of Lam Dong Department of Health, Pharmacist Huynh Thi Phuong Duyen, requested units to strengthen the work of disease prevention and control, especially dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, measles, etc. Some key tasks identified include: Transferring the Health Station to the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones; implementing the project to send 1,000 doctors to work at the health station and arranging at least 1 medical staff at the Department of Culture and Society; at the same time, continuing to improve the organizational structure, recruiting additional human resources according to the 2025 plan.
