Controlling the fire at the wood factory at night in Lam Dong

On the morning of October 2, the leader of the People's Committee of Dam Rong 1 commune (Lam Dong) said that the locality is coordinating with functional agencies to organize a crime scene investigation to clarify the cause of the fire at a wood workshop in the area that occurred on the night of October 1.

According to initial information, at around 6:00 p.m. on October 1, a fire suddenly broke out at the wood workshop of Loc Phat Limited Liability Company (Trung Tam village, Dam Rong 1 commune). The fire then flared up and spread to surrounding areas due to the presence of many flammable materials.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police dispatched 2 specialized fire trucks from Duc Trong area and dozens of soldiers to the scene to coordinate with local forces to carry out rescue work. However, due to the fast spreading of the fire and high smoke column, the fire fighting work encountered many difficulties. At around 0:00 on October 2, the fire was basically controlled and did not spread to surrounding areas.

According to local authorities, the fire did not cause any human casualties but burned many items, wooden furniture and assets in the wood workshop, with initial damage estimated at about 1.5 billion VND.

Authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify the cause of the fire.
