At the launching ceremony of "Registering to donate tissues and organs - Giving is forever", on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19, 2024), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh registered to donate tissues and organs after death or brain death and called on people to join hands to voluntarily carry out this act to save the lives of patients.

This action of the Prime Minister has deeply moved the people, many people expressed strong impression with the photo of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh receiving the card to register for organ and tissue donation. Beyond all languages, it is a call from compassion, from the strong heart of the spirit of "love others as you love yourself".

Two weeks after the Prime Minister's call, nearly 10,000 more people registered to donate organs.

"We still remember more than 10 years ago, when the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center was first established, we hoped and wished that one day the Prime Minister would directly sign the organ donation registration form. This would certainly be a good influence and call to action," shared Dr. Nguyen Hoang Phuc, Deputy Director of the Center. Nearly 96,000 people have registered to donate organs so far, which is extremely meaningful and valuable, touching the hearts of everyone.

Organ and tissue donation is one of the most precious gifts that one person can give to another, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized at the launching ceremony of organ and tissue donation registration. With the spirit of "giving is forever", it is the most noble gesture, the strength originating from the people.

More than 10,000 people registered to donate organs after the launching ceremony, which is a noble gesture that gives tens of thousands of patients a chance to live. This number shows that the movement to register to donate organs and tissues is increasingly spreading and expanding.

However, compared to many countries with similar cultures in the region, the rate of people registering to donate organs and tissues in Vietnam is still low. For many people, this is still a strange and new thing, and there is still hesitation due to prejudices.

Therefore, the voluntary and exemplary actions of leaders and professionals in registering to donate organs have the highest persuasive power on the people, directly influencing the decisions and actions of many people. The effect of a good deed or a kind act has a strong spreading power.

And when many people register to donate organs, it will spread positive energy to patients with organ failure waiting for transplants, helping them believe that the whole society cares and is looking for opportunities to share life with them.

Instead of burying the "source of life" in the ground or burning it, we use it to save people. Donated organs are the last resort for patients, the hope for life to be revived.

The measure of life is not time but dedication. Giving is giving the best things to society, to the community. Regardless of age or young, big or small, rich or poor, people of different status in society, everyone has an equal opportunity to sign the organ and tissue donation application.

At the launching ceremony, the Prime Minister called on all adult Vietnamese people, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, age, or region, to voluntarily register to donate organs in the spirit of "Opening compassion - Spreading love - Lighting faith - Continuing hope - Sowing seeds of life", which is the most noble love and gesture, one person can save many people.

The heart of "giving" will always remain.
