To date, more than 60% of schools in the city have classified waste at source and built “ecological corners” – where students can design, recycle, and spread messages of environmental protection.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen Thuy, Principal ofFPT High School Can Tho, said:
“Activities related to green schools and reducing plastic waste are criteria for sustainable development. Students are encouraged to limit printing and utilize materials such as cardboard to create recycled products.”
Not only stopping at each school, the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho has issued many directive documents, coordinated with organizations to organize propaganda, competitions and experiential activities to form green awareness for students.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City, emphasized:
“We encourage students to limit the use of nylon bags and use biodegradable materials, thereby educating them on environmental responsibility right in school.”
Faced with the increasing challenge of plastic waste, the “plastic waste-free school” model not only contributes to cleaning up the school environment, but also sows the seeds of a sustainable lifestyle, forming a generation of citizens responsible for the future environment.
