Spread love to help orphaned students' dreams take flight

Currently, in the province there are still many orphans, disabled children and children in especially difficult circumstances, not only lacking in material things but also deprived in emotional and school conditions. In order for them to have the opportunity to study, grow and advance in life, it is necessary to have the cooperation of all levels of government, organizations, individuals and philanthropists inside and outside the province.

One of the touching stories is the plight of two biological sisters, Dang Thi Diep Anh (15 years old) and Dang Vinh Truong (13 years old), Dao ethnic people in Dai Van village (Van Don special zone). In 2016, their mother took her youngest child and left, leaving the two sisters to live with their father who was seriously ill and had no stable job. Life was already difficult, and in early 2025, their father passed away, and the two sisters moved to live with their grandmother, who was also often sick due to heart disease and was unable to provide long-term care.

Lacking support, the two siblings had to rely on their uncles and aunts in their family. Outside of school hours, Diep Anh and Vinh Truong had to take care of each other, sharing every meal... Loving her younger sibling, Diep Anh once intended to quit school after 9th grade to go to work to help the family and give her younger brother the opportunity to study.

Sympathizing with this special situation, Dai Van village proactively contacted the Provincial Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans (NKT-TMC) to call for help. Through the Association's connection, Tam Duc Cam Pha Joint Stock Company sponsored and supported the two children (each child 12 million VND/year) until they turn 18. Moved by the timely help, Dang Thi Diep Anh shared: I am very touched to receive the care and help from you. I will try to be good and study well so as not to let everyone down.

Ms. Pham Thi Cuc, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Tam Duc Cam Pha Joint Stock Company, shared: Knowing the two children's special circumstances, we did not hesitate to decide to support them so that they can continue to go to school. Studying is their right and we are always willing to accompany them so that no child is left behind.

Not only that, the Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled and the Disabled also sent a document requesting the Van Don Special Zone authorities to continue to pay attention and create all learning conditions for the two children, avoiding them from dropping out of school due to difficulties. The case of Diep Anh and Vinh Truong is just one of dozens of orphaned and disabled children that the Association has connected with and mobilized support for in recent times. According to statistics from the Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled and the Disabled, the province currently has more than 4,000 children in special circumstances and nearly 4,500 children at risk of falling into special circumstances; mainly due to lack of caregivers, difficulties in studying, social integration and comprehensive development.

The Provincial Association for the Protection of Disabled Children, together with leaders of the Fatherland Front, provincial departments, branches and benefactors, presented bicycles to orphans and disabled children in difficult circumstances before the new school year 2025-2026.

Although Quang Ninh province has always paid great attention to care policies that exceed central regulations, in reality there are still many gaps, especially in remote areas where policies have not really entered into life or where local authorities lack close supervision. Therefore, the joint support from the community is extremely necessary and urgent.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Provincial Association for the Protection of Disabled Children and Disabled People mobilized social support for 75 orphaned children and students with a level ranging from 500,000 VND to 1 million VND/child/month. In addition, the Association also gave hundreds of gifts including bicycles, study corners, computers and necessities, with a total cost of up to billions of VND, entirely from the resources of benefactors inside and outside the province.

They are vulnerable and feel inferior if they lack social care. We always try to connect with kind hearts so that they can go to school and have the opportunity to integrate and develop like their peers.

With the theme throughout 2025 being “Spreading love - Lighting up faith”, the Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Disabled is contributing every day to realizing the dream of studying and being loved of thousands of orphaned and disabled children in the area. Each heart given, a life is supported. That journey of love will continue, when the whole community joins hands, looking at the small lives that are in dire need of protection and support.
