Festival of world colors in the heart of Hanoi

The Cultures of the World Festival in Hanoi 2025 (CWF 2025) will take place from October 10 to 12 at the Central Relic Site of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long (Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center, Hanoi).

In the space of a thousand-year heritage, the event promises to bring the public a unique experience through a series of art, fashion , culinary and cultural exchange programs.

With the spirit of "Connecting - Sharing - Spreading love", the festival brings together many international friends, artists, social organizations, businesses and Vietnamese people to support the community heavily affected by natural disasters.

The event demonstrates the spirit of international solidarity in joining hands to respond to global challenges, especially climate change. The festival space is colorful with traditional Asian-European dances, costume shows, international cuisine and Vietnamese art performances carrying the message "the world beats together with love".

On the evening of October 10, the official opening ceremony was held at the heritage center with the art program “Colors of Vietnam - Rhythms of the World”. The opening was the resounding sound of festival drums, 3D Mapping projection effects and the song Hello Vietnam in a solemn and modern atmosphere.

Next, the “Colors and Cultural Heritage” ceremony was performed when delegates harmonized five colors symbolizing the cultural connection of nations. The art performance introduced typical heritages of Vietnam such as Quan Ho Bac Ninh, Hue Royal Court Music, Central Highlands Gong, Southern Amateur Music, Hat Van Co Doi Thuong Ngan, Xam Thang Long...

Along with that, art troupes from Laos, Japan, Mongolia, Romania, Pakistan, India... contributed to creating a colorful picture of world culture. The opening night ended with the performance We Are The World spreading the message of friendship, solidarity and peace.

On October 11, the festival space starts from 9am to 9pm with art exchange activities, folk performances and unique cultural experiences.

At the round stage, the audience will enjoy Quan Ho folk songs, Cheo art, water puppetry and performances by art troupes from Thailand, Laos, Palestine, Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, Ukraine, Philippines, UAE... creating a vibrant, multi-ethnic and friendly atmosphere.

In parallel, the international cuisine area attracted a large audience with the typical flavors of Vietnam and the world. Vietnamese artisans demonstrated how to make banh chung, com Me Tri, banh cuon Thanh Tri, xoi Phu Thuong... while representatives of the embassies of Thailand, Peru, Venezuela, Ukraine, Malaysia, Sri Lanka introduced traditional dishes, creating an attractive and lively culinary picture.

On the evening of October 11, the fashion show “Heritage Footsteps” became a meeting point for art and creativity, gathering Vietnamese and international designers. The ao dai collections “Hanoi in Hanoi” by Vu Viet Ha, “Heritage in Hanoi” by Ngan An, “Thang Long-Time Marks” by Desilk, “Nguyet Hoa” by Hanuo, along with a performance of traditional costumes from more than 20 countries in the heritage space, demonstrated the connection between tradition and modernity, between Vietnamese quintessence and the spirit of global integration.

Within the framework of the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi, the international film screening program will introduce to the public outstanding cinematographic works from Vietnam and other countries. The screenings at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Hall on October 11 and 12, from 9am to 9pm, will be free for cinema lovers.

On the evening of October 12, the festival concluded with a closing ceremony themed “Shine Together”. The performances of “Prosperous Vietnam”, “Made in Vietnam”, “Gieo Que”, “See Tinh” and the performances of international art troupes with the songs “Hello Vietnam”, “Aaj Rang Hae”, “Gio Cuba” will create a bustling, youthful and emotional atmosphere.

The highlight of the event is the charity auction and fundraising program. All funds raised will be transferred to localities affected by storms and floods, supporting the rebuilding of houses, schools and public works, helping people to stabilize their lives soon. The festival space closed with the image of hundreds of lit candles, symbolizing the light of compassion, faith and hope.


The World Cultural Festival in Hanoi will become a bridge between culture, art and human hearts, continuing to affirm the message "When culture connects, the world joins hands, there is no challenge that cannot be overcome - For a sustainable future for everyone".

The three days of cultural convergence at CWF 2025 will be an impressive journey of experience. With its scale and rich content, the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi 2025 is an opportunity for Vietnam to affirm its position as a center of exchange and promote the image of a dynamic, friendly and unique country in the era of international integration.
