[Video] Ho Chi Minh City: Many subjects still lack teachers

On October 10, Mr. Tong Phuoc Loc, Head of the Personnel Organization Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said that after the recruitment round at the end of September, the education sector recruited more than 3,900 teachers, nearly 1,800 people short of the schools' needs.

The number of teachers is mainly lacking in 5 subjects: Music, Fine Arts, Information Technology, History and Geography, and Technology, at primary and secondary levels.

Chemistry, Biology, Physics at high school level and Japanese and Chinese have recruited enough teachers. In particular, the positions of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology attract a large number of applicants, with a competition ratio of more than 1:10.

The number of teachers recruited for the subjects of History, Geography, National Defense Education at high school level and Natural Sciences (junior high school) also nearly met the target.
