National Day holiday from August 30, 2025 to September 2, 2025

Previously, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Home Affairs ) issued Document 6150/TB-BLDTBXH announcing the Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, Victory Day holiday April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025 for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers.

Accordingly, cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations (civil servants and public employees) will have a day off for the National Day holiday in 2025 from Saturday, August 30, 2025 to Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

This holiday includes 02 National Day holidays and 02 weekly days off.

In 2025, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers will also have holidays on Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025, from April 30, 2025 to May 4, 2025.

Arrange and organize the on-duty departments according to regulations to handle the work

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs requests agencies and units implementing the Lunar New Year holiday schedule, National Day holiday, April 30 Victory Day holiday and May 1 International Labor Day holiday in 2025 to note the following: Arrange and organize on-duty departments according to regulations and work reasonably to handle continuous work, ensure good service to organizations and people, in which pay attention to assigning officers and civil servants on duty to handle sudden and unexpected work that may occur during Tet holiday and holidays according to regulations.

Agencies, units, and localities have specific and appropriate plans and measures to encourage units, enterprises, organizations, and individuals to actively and proactively implement production, business, economic , and social activities, ensuring stable supply and demand of goods, services, prices, and markets, contributing to promoting production, business, economic growth, practicing thrift, fighting waste, striving to successfully implement the goals and tasks of the 2025 plan, the year of acceleration and breakthrough in implementing the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025, creating a solid foundation and premise for rapid and sustainable development in the coming time.

Agencies and units that do not have a fixed Saturday and Sunday off schedule every week should arrange a suitable off schedule.

According to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, agencies and units that do not have a fixed schedule of Saturday and Sunday off every week will base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange a suitable schedule of off, in accordance with the provisions of law.

For employees who are not cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations, the employer decides to choose the option of taking National Day holidays, April 30 Victory Day holidays and May 1 International Labor Day holidays in 2025 as follows:

For National Day holiday: Tuesday, September 2, 2025 and choose 1 of 2 days: Monday, September 1, 2025 or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Employers shall notify employees of the Lunar New Year and National Day holiday plans in 2025 at least 30 days before implementation.

If the weekly day off coincides with a public holiday as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, the employee shall be entitled to take a compensatory weekly day off on the next working day as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs encourages employers to apply the Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, Victory Day holiday on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025 for employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees.

Other holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code.
