Lien Son commune is more than 23 km² wide with more than 13,000 people of 14 ethnic groups living together. Lien Son has become a land that is both rich in cultural identity and dynamic in economic development.
The Thai people in Lien Son account for nearly half of the population, playing a leading role in the unique cultural space. On bright moonlit nights, the bustling xoe dance connects generations; then the Han Khuong festival, the Full Moon festival in January, the Khai Ha ceremony of the Muong people or the Tham Han cave festival... all create a vibrant rhythm of life, spreading the spirit of solidarity among ethnic groups.

Ms. Dinh Thanh Toan in Doan Ket village excitedly shared: The village Party cell regularly pays attention to amending village rules and regulations to suit the new life. All people are allowed to participate and contribute ideas. From building cultural houses to preserving traditional festivals, everyone contributes labor and money, so spiritual life is much richer. Up to now, 95% of villages in the commune meet cultural standards; 93.1% of households are recognized as cultural families; 17/20 villages have achieved the title of "Happy Village"; the rate of happy families is 85%; the happiness index of Lien Son in 2025 is 68.8%, 4.4% higher than in 2020.
If culture is the spiritual bond, then the economy is the material foundation for Lien Son to rise. In recent years, the economic structure of the commune has shifted strongly towards sustainable commodity agriculture . On the vast fields, more than 630 hectares of two-crop rice, the output reaches more than 3,600 tons per year. Not only stopping at rice, Lien Son also has 416 hectares of tea, the average yield reaches over 20 tons/ha, the output is more than 8,500 tons. New economic models are also appearing more and more: from growing squash and squash for seeds to high-quality vegetables to replace ineffective rice areas.

Ms. Truong Thi Huong Giang - Head of the Economic Department of Lien Son Commune said: Building new rural areas in Lien Son is not only a movement but also the participation of the entire political system and the people. Up to now, 13/13 villages have met the new rural standards, 4 villages have met the model new rural standards; average income per capita reached 47.3 million VND/year, an increase of 5% compared to 2020. This is the result of joint efforts and correct orientation.
Along with that, Lien Son continuously invests in infrastructure - a factor considered a "push" for culture and economy to develop together. The lighting system, village roads and alleys are concreted. In the past 5 years, the commune has concreted an additional 15 km of rural roads, built more than 1 km of new canals... The commune's main roads have been widened from 5 m to 7 m thanks to land donated by the people; 100% of households have access to the national grid; 46% of households have access to clean water according to standards; schools and cultural houses have been newly built and upgraded, creating a new look for the countryside.

Mr. Vu Duc Trung - Secretary of the Party Committee of Lien Son commune emphasized: The goal of the commune is to build a clean and strong Party and political system; promote the great solidarity of the people; mobilize all resources for socio-economic development. Lien Son will promote the transformation of crop structure towards high value, associated with commodity production. At the same time, focus on improving the material and spiritual life, the happiness index of the people, making Lien Son a developed commune in the new era. In the period of 2025 - 2030, Lien Son continues to promote innovation, exploit existing potentials and advantages, and link rapid and sustainable economic development with social equity.

Lien Son today is not only a place to preserve traditional cultural beauty, but also a land of aspirations to rise up. The xoe dances by the fire, the bustling festivals, the golden rice fields, the green tea plantations, the new roads stretching out… all are blending together, marking the change in the countryside rich in traditional cultural identity.
