The Vietnam Peacekeeping Engineer Team at the UNISFA Mission (Africa) has just launched a series of activities to celebrate National Day, September 2.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, the representative of the Engineering Team said that a functional room roof of Field Hospital No. 1 with an area of nearly 100 square meters was chosen to paint the national flag.

The person who came up with the idea of painting the national flag on the roof was Major, pharmacist Vu Anh Duc, an officer at the Level 1 Field Hospital of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Engineering Team. This idea was approved by the UNISFA Mission.

The national flag is located in front of the entrance gate, easily visible from the road leading to the base. Despite facing sudden and prolonged rains that caused the paint to fade, the Vietnamese blue beret soldiers still managed to complete the flag in just 5 days.

"This is not only a welcome to international friends to the base of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Engineering Team, but also an affirmation and national pride of each of us blue beret soldiers," said Major and pharmacist Vu Anh Duc.

It is expected that the flag-shaped paint on the roof will continue to be preserved after the National Day holiday on September 2nd.

In addition to painting the national flag, the Vietnam Engineering Corps also organized many activities to celebrate the National Day on September 2, such as repairing and handing over boats to people in the local community of Mijak; providing food, medicine, and clothes to Abyei hospital; upgrading roads, dredging ditches, replacing sewers, and supporting flood prevention in the Abyei area...
