Unexpected joy from the title of valedictorian
"When I heard I was the keeper, I was extremely happy and also a bit surprised," Hanh shared.
Hanh said that as soon as she entered the Foreign Trade University, she set a goal to try her best to live up to her own efforts and her family's expectations. However, Hanh never thought that one day she would reach the top position of the entire class. Hanh expressed special gratitude to the teachers who guided her throughout the 4 years of study, as well as her family and friends who always accompanied and encouraged her. For Hanh, her results today are the result of all that love and support.

For Hanh, studying is not about studying a lot, but about studying actively and effectively. Before each lesson, Hanh often studies the materials in advance, reads the basic concepts and notes down difficult points to ask the teacher right in class. Thanks to that, when entering the lecture, she grasps the knowledge more clearly, avoiding the feeling of ambiguity.
Hanh said that in class, she often listens attentively and asks questions immediately when she doesn’t understand, because according to Hanh, that’s a way to save time studying on her own later. In the evening, Hanh spends 2-3 hours reviewing and preparing for the next day, but always maintains a balance: reading books, watching movies, meeting friends and going to bed early to stay healthy.
Another habit of Hanh is to connect knowledge with life. When watching movies or reading newspapers, Hanh often stops to relate the concepts she has learned. With foreign languages, she makes English a part of her life. Hanh often reads newspapers, watches movies, and listens to music in English. Learning thus becomes easier and more interesting.
Hanh also applies spaced repetition, which means reviewing many times in cycles to turn short-term knowledge into long-term knowledge. Flashcards, notebooks, and rereading lessons after 1 day, 1 week, 1 month are familiar tools. In addition, Hanh also connects knowledge with real-life experiences, thanks to which information is retained longer.
She also often "teaches" her friends. When she has to express it in her own words, Hanh forces herself to understand it thoroughly, thus remembering it more deeply.

When talking about the biggest difficulty in university, Hanh frankly said that it was peer pressure. At Foreign Trade University, Hanh met talented people everywhere. There were friends with sky-high GPAs, friends who went on international exchanges, friends who started businesses in their first year. At first, Hanh said that she felt overwhelmed and pressured. However, gradually, the girl learned how to turn pressure into motivation. "If they can do it, I can find a way to do it too. Instead of comparing, I choose to observe, learn and practice my skills to break through my limits," Hanh said.
Not only that, the pressure of studying often makes you stressed. "The amount of knowledge is huge. Therefore, I constantly innovate my learning methods such as previewing documents, focusing on difficult parts in class, taking notes of main ideas instead of each word, finding more documents outside of class... Thanks to a group of friends who study together and encourage me when I feel discouraged, I have overcome difficulties," Hanh shared.
Thanks to these pressures, Hanh has been able to develop discipline, perseverance and the ability to cope. For her, the school not only imparts knowledge, but also helps students become more confident.
Journey to create TikTok channel
The idea of creating a TikTok channel came from the time Hanh worked as a collaborator for an English learning community project. While proposing content, she proposed the idea of sharing daily foreign language learning experiences, but was not selected. However, seeing the potential, she decided to create her own channel to implement.
According to Hanh, what makes her channel so popular is its closeness. The content is not about dry teaching but about recording her own learning journey. Every time she reads the newspaper, watches a movie, or comes across interesting vocabulary, Hanh makes a video to share. It is that simplicity that creates the spread.
"There were times when I sat for hours without coming up with any ideas. I learned to observe more. I think every story my friends told, an article I just read, or a line in a movie became creative material. I remember most a video inspired by a line I happened to come across on the street. That random sentence unexpectedly became the most "viral" (inspirational) clip on the channel," Hanh shared.

If there is one thing she wants to say, Hanh says: "Never be afraid to start with small steps. Every day, just make a little progress compared to yesterday, and over time, those persistent efforts will bring us great results."
Mr. Phi Manh Hung, a former student of Foreign Trade University, currently an English teacher, shared a memory about Hanh: "In my third year of university, I decided to give books back to my juniors. There were 3 thick, heavy stacks of books. I thought it would take a long time for anyone to receive them, but the next morning, Hanh came by motorbike to pick them all up. Today, reading the news that she was valedictorian, I found the saying "where there's a will, there's a way" to be true."
Mr. Hung said that he was impressed with Hanh's enthusiasm. To him, Hanh is not a "bookworm" but a person who learns with a goal and knows what she is studying for. "This girl will definitely shine even brighter in the future," Mr. Hung said.
