On the evening of October 2, the Opening Ceremony of Lao Cultural Week in Vietnam took place at the Hanoi Opera House. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An attended and delivered a speech.

Lao Cultural Week in Vietnam 2025 is a series of important events within the framework of the cultural, artistic and tourism cooperation plan between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Laos for the period 2021-2025.

With special solidarity and friendship, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Laos cooperate effectively in maintaining the organization of the annual Cultural Week in each country. The event honors the long-standing friendship and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Laos; at the same time, it is a bridge to help increase mutual understanding between the people of the two countries, and an opportunity to promote traditional arts and rich cultural heritage of the Lao people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Darany Phommavongsa, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Laos, emphasized: "The Lao Cultural Week in Vietnam will contribute to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Laos and Vietnam."

Within the framework of the event, there will be special art performances by Lao artists with dances and songs reflecting the traditional beauty, national spirit and achievements of the Lao people in the cause of construction and development.

Ms. Darany Phommavongsa, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Laos, spoke at the ceremony.

"On this occasion, I would like to sincerely thank the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam for its efforts and close coordination, contributing to the successful organization of the Lao Cultural Week in Vietnam. May the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam be forever green and sustainable," said Ms. Darany Phommavongsa.

Expressing his thanks to Ms. Darany Phommavongsa and the delegates of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong said that the relationship between Vietnam and Laos is a special relationship with a history of exemplary cooperation, rare in the world . Geographically, the two countries "lean on" the majestic Truong Son mountain range and drink the same water from the Mekong River.

The performances at the Opening Ceremony are a combination of traditional cultures of the two countries Vietnam and Laos.

Emphasizing the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh: "Vietnam and Laos, our two countries - The love is deeper than the Red River and Mekong River", Deputy Minister Ho An Phong affirmed that the friendly and comprehensive cooperative relationship between the two countries was built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and the leaders of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to become increasingly close and profound.

Over the past years, the two countries have strengthened comprehensive cooperation in many aspects. In particular, in the fields of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the two countries have had meaningful, effective and rich exchanges and cooperation; in terms of socio-economic cooperation, national defense and security, there has been good progress... worthy of the long history and tradition of the two countries.

This year's Lao Cultural Week in Vietnam will be held from October 1-7, 2025 at two locations: Hanoi and Thanh Hoa province. In the series of events, there will be notable art programs such as: Participating in the art program "World Culture Day in Hanoi" for the first time in 2025 at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hanoi (October 3); Performance program of the Lao PDR art troupe at Lam Son Theater, Thanh Hoa province (October 4) ....
