Entering October 2025, the Vietnamese auto market recorded the deepest price reduction wave in many years, especially in the high-chassis vehicle segment. From SUVs to crossovers, many models of both Japanese and Korean brands have incentives ranging from tens to hundreds of millions of VND, creating a vibrant stimulus race as we enter the year-end shopping season.
Unlike the short-term clearance sales of previous years, this year's discount is larger in scale and intensity, not only applying to models that are about to be replaced but also spreading to best-selling car lines.

Subaru is leading the way in terms of price reductions, simultaneously adjusting the prices of its three models, Forester, Crosstrek and Outback, in October. In particular, the Subaru Forester, the company's best-selling SUV, has received the biggest discount ever. The standard Forester 2.0 iL version is reduced by VND140 million, bringing the actual price to about VND829 million.
The Forester 2.0 iL EyeSight version is supported with registration fees and registration fees, along with gifts worth a total of about 240 million VND, making the actual price only about 859 million VND. The highest-end version Forester 2.0 iS EyeSight has a total incentive of 308 million VND, reducing the actual price to about 900 million VND, considered a record low for this car model in Vietnam.

The deep discount is said to be to "clear inventory" in preparation for the launch of the Forester 2025, a version imported directly from Japan, expected to be launched at the end of October 2025. Not only Forester, Subaru Crosstrek also has a strong discount. Specifically, the 2.0 iS EyeSight version is reduced by 199 million VND, down to about 899 million VND, while the Hybrid e-Boxer version is reduced by 239 million VND, the price is about 1.029 billion VND, the lowest level since its launch in Vietnam.
One step higher, Subaru Outback continues to hold the title of the deepest discount on the market, with a discount of 500 million VND, bringing the selling price from 2.099 billion VND down to 1.599 billion VND. With this price, Outback is now approaching popular D-class competitors such as Hyundai Palisade or Ford Everest Platinum.

Not to be left behind, Hyundai Thanh Cong is also applying a strong discount program for two main SUV models, Palisade and SantaFe. The large 7-seat SUV Hyundai Palisade is reduced by up to 200 million VND, bringing the actual price down to about 1.269 - 1.389 billion VND depending on the version.
Meanwhile, the SantaFe 2025 model also has a deep discount from 100 to nearly 200 million VND. At some dealers in Hanoi , the Exclusive version is about 970 million VND, the Prestige version is from 1.07 - 1.1 billion VND, and the highest Turbo Calligraphy version is only 1.175 - 1.2 billion VND, with additional gift packages and insurance.

Not only Subaru and Hyundai, the discount wave has also spread to many other brands such as Mazda, Honda, Skoda and Toyota. The CX-8, CX-5, CR-V, Kodiaq, Tucson, Corolla Cross and Yaris Cross models are all receiving direct cash discounts or registration fee support, with values ranging from several tens to nearly 100 million VND depending on the dealer and region.
According to the auto business community, the current price reduction race is not only a normal way to sell off inventory but also a strategy to gain market share during the market's adaptation phase, when consumers are considering between traditional gasoline cars and electric cars.

Pressure from the amount of unsold cars, along with the expectation of the upcoming green car support policy, has forced companies to act early to maintain sales. With this sharp decline, October is considered the golden time for high-chassis car buyers to spend money, before the market enters its peak at the end of the year.
