Pepper price today October 15, 2025: Sharp decrease up to 3000 VND/kg

Domestic pepper price today October 15, 2025 decreased by 3,000 VND/kg, ranging from 144,500-147,000 VND/kg. China increased pepper imports from Vietnam and reduced purchases from Indonesia.

Domestic pepper prices remain stable

Pepper price today, October 15, 2025, in some key growing areas decreased sharply by 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, thereby bringing the domestic pepper price level to 144,500 - 147,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak province decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently at 147,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Gia Lai province decreased by 1,500 VND/kg, currently at 144,500 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Lam Dong province decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, at 147,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City today dropped sharply by 3,000 VND/kg, currently at 146,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Dong Nai province decreased by 2,000 VND/kg, currently at 145,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today October 15, 2025: Sharp decrease up to 3000 VND/kg

According to statistics from China Customs, in the first eight months of this year, the amount of pepper imported into this country was 6,390 tons, with a total value of 43.4 million USD. Although the import quantity decreased by 14.6% compared to the same period last year, the total value increased by 19.8%.

Indonesia remained the largest pepper supplier to China with 3,174 tonnes, down 27.9% and causing Indonesia's market share to drop from 58.8% to 49.7%.

Meanwhile, pepper from Vietnam has seen remarkable growth. Exports to China reached 2,572 tons, up 10.4% over the same period. Thanks to that, Vietnam's market share in the Chinese market has increased sharply from 31.1% to 40.2%.

In addition, imports from Brazil also increased sharply by 93.6%, reaching 437 tons and accounting for 6.8% of the market share. In contrast, imports from Malaysia decreased sharply by 61.8%, to only 119 tons and accounting for 1.9% of the market share.

A notable point is that the average export price of Vietnamese pepper to China reached 7,212 USD per ton, up 51.7% over the same period last year. This price is significantly higher than that of Indonesian pepper (6,363 USD/ton) and Brazilian pepper (4,375 USD/ton).

World pepper prices and influencing factors

In the world market, based on quotes from exporting enterprises and export prices in countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the latest pepper prices as of October 15, 2025 as follows:

Indonesia's Lampung black pepper price increased by 0.01% to USD 7,234/ton. Similarly, Muntok white pepper price increased by 0.02% to USD 10,093/ton.

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price fell sharply by 1.64% to USD 6,100/ton.

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged at $9,500 per tonne. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price also remained unchanged at $12,500 per tonne.

Prices of all types of Vietnamese pepper are stable, of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l is 6,660 USD/ton; 550 gr/l is 6,800 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained stable at 9,250 USD/ton.
