A very different "opening day", simple yet warm at the hospital. The colors of love add faith and hope to the children on their journey to recovery.
On September 5, the drawing class maintained by the Social Work Department, Gia Dinh People's Hospital for nearly a year "reopened" with the theme "Happy to go to school". The pictures of school, teachers, friends... were carefully colored by the children, helping to ease the nostalgia for the classroom, and somewhat soothe the sadness of not being able to attend the opening ceremony like many of their peers.
On this occasion, the Social Work Department gave the children small but loving gifts: notebooks, colored pencils, candy, milk... to add joy and motivation on their treatment journey.
NLMK (9 years old, living in Gia Dinh ward, Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "Today, I got to color pictures about my teachers and friends. I miss my class less and I'm also happy on the first day of school."

On September 5, Master Hoang Thi Bich Hanh, Deputy Head of the Social Work Department, Gia Dinh People's Hospital, said that in addition to activities to take care of the mental health of patients, the hospital always cares for the children who are being treated as inpatients. The regular drawing class held on the opening day of the new school year is expected to be a meaningful activity to encourage the spirit, bring relaxing and fun moments and an opportunity for the children to unleash their creativity, explore the world of colors and find smiles during the treatment process.
"We hope that through this activity, the children will have more joy, optimism and a strong spirit to overcome the challenges in their treatment journey. At the same time, we also hope to continue to receive the companionship and cooperation of benefactors to maintain and organize more meaningful activities for the sick children," shared Master Bich Hanh.

Mr. NCM, NLMK's father, said that on the first day of school, his child could not go to school like his friends, but the atmosphere here somewhat compensated, helping him feel happy and still included in the first day of school.
"I was really touched to see my children having fun, being creative, and temporarily forgetting their illness. My family is very grateful to the doctors and benefactors who gave the children such a special day," Mr. M. shared.
