In recent days, the Vietnamese cryptocurrency community has been stirred up by the incident related to Shark Nguyen Hoa Binh (Chairman of NextTech) and the AntEx cryptocurrency/digital currency project - a name that "made waves" during the crypto market growth period in 2021.
In 2021, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh announced an investment of 2.5 million USD in the AntEx blockchain project through the Next100Blockchain fund, while also serving as a strategic advisor.
AntEx was introduced as a decentralized financial ecosystem (DeFi) with the ambition to develop stablecoin VNDT, attracting the attention of the domestic investment community even though at that time crypto assets did not have a legal basis in Vietnam.
Shortly after, the AntEx token plummeted and lost 99% of its value, and the project's official website and social media channels also stopped working.
In March 2023, AntEx suddenly changed its name to Rabbit (RAB), but the new token also continued to fall sharply, losing about 95% of its value compared to its peak.
After many years of silence, on September 24, Mr. Binh suddenly commented on the AntEx project. He said that many startups today issue coins just to raise capital early. "They launch coins, collect 3-5 million USD, then start to 'fail'. Most projects do not continue or fail. 99% of coins fall into this situation: Investors lose money, while project owners 'keep the money' to benefit legally" - Shark Binh said.
Shark Binh said he experienced "pain" when participating in coin
Mr. Binh also admitted: "I previously invested in the AntEx digital asset issuance project. However, the technology team committed wrongdoings and then disappeared, causing investors and advisors like me to be discredited."
Explaining why he mentioned AntEx after a long time, Mr. Binh said that he had a responsibility to share his experience so that the community could be alert, avoid failure, lose money, and have their reputation affected like he did.
This controversy intensified when Shark Binh frankly warned: "Don't get too caught up in Blockchain, Fintech, coins,...". This caused a stir in the online community because previously, the "shark" had participated in investing in the development of the AntEX digital asset project.
On September 26, Shark Binh livestreamed an exchange on his personal fanpage on the topic: "Crypto Assets - Opportunities and Risks". During this live broadcast, the Chairman of NextTech shared his views and opinions on the digital asset market.
Although he admits that he does not have in-depth knowledge of blockchain technology, he still holds the view that blockchain does not bring much practical value to life, but is just like a "game" created by big countries.
An anonymous account accused Shark Binh
Later, when an anonymous account posted a rebuttal to Shark Binh's statements, asserting that the Chairman of NextTech was the one behind the collapse of AntEX, benefited financially, and did not suffer any losses after pouring money into the project, but said "he was deceived".
A long anonymous post on Facebook "Hoi Tuesday. danglonbank.vn" revealed that Shark Binh was the direct investor of 2.5 million USD in AntEx, while also holding the "wallet key" and putting NextTech's chief accountant in the CFO position to control all project finances .
The author denies the accusation of token price manipulation and counter-accuses Mr. Binh of being the one who directed the token dumping right after the listing on OKEX. The article also questions the fate of the initial $2.5 million investment.
Finally, this person confirmed that he had evidence and asked Shark Binh to be financially transparent.
Immediately after that, on his personal Facebook page with a blue tick, Mr. Binh posted two responses after an anonymous post appeared accusing him.
Mr. Binh affirmed that his purpose is to "bring out the traitors who have been hiding in the dark and tarnishing my reputation for the past few years" into the light, and he even wants those who have criticized him in the dark to come out and livestream with him to clarify the story.
Shark Binh wants the person who criticized him in the dark to come out on livestream to clarify the story.
Shark Binh pointed out that the person behind the incident was "LVL (aka LL)", a former technical staff that he had helped many times. According to Shark, when investing in AntEx, he "mistakenly" gave this person the position of CTO (Chief Technical Officer), thereby holding everything, from Key, Code, Blockchain wallet...
He also accused this person of being behind incidents such as "Backdoor into Dev's Token warehouse, Rug-pull "putting potty" on investors, Blockchain wallet hacked...
Shark Binh believes that other shareholders do not have deep technical knowledge and were "betrayed and then he disappeared". Currently, shareholders have collected evidence and worked with the authorities but have not been processed because crypto is not recognized by law, electronic traces are erased or unclear, and the anonymity of crypto wallets.
Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh commented that the anonymous information was "completely one-sided" and said that the person who posted the article "could very well be the anonymous Tech Team behind the entire Coin Antex incident".
After that, the two sides continuously fought back and forth, but until now the scandal has not come to an end.
However, according to a source from the Lao Dong Newspaper, some investors have reported to the Hanoi City Police to verify the unclear suspicions related to the AntEx project.
Shark Binh livestreams again at noon on October 6
Most recently, on October 5, on Shark Binh's (Nguyen Hoa Binh) personal Facebook page with a blue tick, he reshared a post from Shark Nguyen Hoa Binh's Fanpage on the same day, announcing that on October 6, he will return to his daily work, with the "mission" of startups and technology with a series of livestreams sharing knowledge about business and life.
Notably, Shark Nguyen Hoa Binh's Fanpage noted that rude comments, or about coin vs crypto (digital currency/cryptocurrency), or not related to the livestream topic... will be deleted and locked because he has said all the necessary information.
After sharing this article on his page, Shark Binh announced that he did not want to talk about the past.
This move surprised many people, because he had previously posted a series of articles on social media to voice his response. Therefore, public opinion is now asking the question: Who is the real victim in this story and who is the identity of the anonymous person?
