On October 20, Dr. Hoang Phuc Lam, Deputy Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, said that strong northeast monsoon winds have weakened and dissipated storm No. 5 while it was still at sea, causing the North to become cold and mountainous areas to become chilly at night and early morning.

On October 20, cold air will affect the Northeast region, then affect the North Central region and some places in the Northwest. Northeast wind inland is strong at level 2-3; coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Hai Phong , due to the combined influence of cold air and storm circulation No. 5, will have strong winds at level 6, gusting at level 7-8.

From the night of October 20-22, the weather in Hanoi , the Northern and North Central regions will be cold at night and in the morning, and in the Northern mountainous regions it will be cold at night and in the early morning.

During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature in the North and North Central regions is generally from 19-22 degrees, in the mountainous areas of the North it is generally 16-19 degrees, in the high mountainous areas it is below 14 degrees in some places.

In Hanoi alone, according to Dr. Lam, from October 20-22, there will be insignificant rain, mostly cloudy and cold weather, with northeast winds of level 2-3; highest temperature from 25-27 degrees, lowest temperature 21-23 degrees.

From October 23, the temperature will increase rapidly to 28-32 degrees during the day and 23-26 degrees at night; the weather during the following period will be almost rainless and sunny.

Meanwhile, in the Central region, the weather has turned sunny after many consecutive days of heavy rain. However, from October 21, the North and Central Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas having moderate to heavy rain. From October 22-24, this region is likely to have moderate to heavy rain, some places having very heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms.

The Central Highlands and the South still maintain the weather pattern of the rainy season, with sunny days interspersed with clouds, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.
