Vietnamese legends are reborn through coloring books

The book series, published by Skybooks Culture and Communication Company, is considered a new and lively approach to exploring Vietnamese folk values ​​through each stroke and color.

This is the first coloring project of author Thuy Tien, owner of the TikTok channel "Drawing and Telling Stories" with more than 1.1 million followers. The two books "Folk Legends - Vietnamese Legends" and "Folk Legends - Folk Miracles" include many elaborate illustrations, recreating familiar legends such as Lac Long Quan - Au Co, Son Tinh - Thuy Tinh, Hon vong phu, Tu bat tu... and familiar folk games such as Rong ran len may, Dung dang dung de.

Sharing about the project, Thuy Tien said: “Through each stroke, I hope to recreate the legendary colors in the closest way. I do not have great ambitions, but only hope that each painting or each story in this will help readers love and be proud of the cultural and historical values ​​of the nation.”

Not only for coloring, “Folk Legends” is also a journey of discovery, where every reader, from children to adults, can find their childhood memories and understand more deeply about the origin of Vietnamese folk culture.
