Cao Bang Health Sector mobilizes forces to support victims of flash floods in Duc Long commune

On the morning of October 1, at the construction site of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Project in Duc Long Commune, the authorities found one of the three victims missing due to flash floods. As soon as the information was received, the Cao Bang Provincial Health Department immediately took action, coordinating with local authorities and authorities to deploy necessary medical measures to support the victim's family.

On the night of September 29 to the early morning of September 30, at the construction site of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Project, Duc Long Commune, a flash flood occurred, injuring 2 people and leaving 3 missing. At about 8:10 a.m. on October 1, search and rescue forces found the body of a man about 2km from the flash flood site. Initial information identified the victim as Ly Le Anh Tu, born in 2002, from Thai Nguyen province. Immediately after receiving the information, Mr. Nong Tuan Phong, Director of the Department of Health, was present at the scene, inspected the situation and directed medical units to perform their professional duties well. At the same time, he directed Cao Bang Provincial General Hospital to dispatch an ambulance to transport the victim, ensuring the transportation was safe and dignified. At the same time, Thach An Medical Center was assigned to prepare adequate equipment and facilities and mobilize grassroots medical staff to support the victim's family in funeral arrangements, ensuring thoughtful and timely implementation, demonstrating a sense of responsibility, and sharing difficulties and losses with relatives.

The victim's body was taken to the Mortuary, Thach An Medical Center to complete the procedures and hand over to the family for funeral arrangements.

Also on the morning of October 1, the Director of the Department also inspected the emergency response work at Thach An Medical Center, requiring the unit to maintain adequate supplies of drugs, infusions, medical supplies, and arrange staff on duty 24/7 to promptly respond to emergency situations. In addition, epidemic prevention, environmental sanitation, and community health care in the incident area were also put in place to ensure the health and safety of people and rescue forces.

During the complicated storm situation, the Director of the Department requested medical units to be proactive in ensuring medical work for natural disaster situations, review, adjust, and supplement the reserve of medicine, chemicals, and medical supplies for disaster prevention and search and rescue during the storm season according to the motto "four on-site"; ensure adequate supply of essential medicines for people, contribute to stabilizing people's lives and accompany functional forces in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
