Recently, consecutive storms causing heavy rain have swept away thousands of houses in the northern region of our country, isolated people, lacking electricity, fresh water, food, etc. Responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support people in localities affected by storms No. 10 and 11, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh province allocated 25 billion VND from the Provincial Relief Mobilization Fund and 16 tons of necessities from socialized sources to promptly send to people in flooded areas. Specifically, 15 billion VND will be supported for the provinces of Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Cao Bang ; 10 billion VND for 4 central provinces affected by storm No. 10, including: Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri. The Provincial Red Cross and other units also organized a working group to directly deliver 16 tons of necessities to support people in areas affected by storm No. 10 in Tan An commune (Nghe An) and Tuong Linh commune (Thanh Hoa).
In addition, the Quang Ninh Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has deployed to the Fatherland Front Committees of 54 communes, wards and special zones in the whole province to launch and receive support for people in other provinces. Through the launching work, by October 9, the Provincial Relief Mobilization Fund had received over 800 million VND in cash support from organizations and individuals.

Previously, in order to join hands to overcome the consequences of storms No. 2 and No. 3, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh province allocated from the Provincial Relief Mobilization Fund to support Nghe An and Dien Bien provinces (each province 5 billion VND) and Son La province 3 billion VND. In addition, Quang Ninh also supported the construction of 10 "Great Unity" houses for people in Tuyen Quang province with a total amount of 600 million VND according to the proposal of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ninh province.

Joining hands with the local government, these days, many charitable groups and benefactors in the province have also turned to the people in the flood-affected areas with a heart of sharing in difficult times. Trucks filled with love and hope from the people of Quang Ninh have been rolling in the past days to the flooded areas. Arriving in the flooded areas of Thai Nguyen province, the volunteer group of Jura Vietnam Company and benefactors brought 3 trucks with hundreds of gifts including milk, instant noodles, filtered water, mini gas stoves, gas cylinders, fast food, to the people... Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Quynh, Director of Jura Vietnam Company, said: "We hope that these supports will help people to alleviate their immediate difficulties, stabilize their lives, and restore production after the floods. This is also a way to spread the spirit of mutual love and support in the community..."

Many philanthropists and benefactors are also willing to donate necessities to promptly provide relief to people in flood-affected areas. Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Ha (Ha Lam ward) shared: "Through following the mass media channels, I see that people in flood-affected areas in Thai Nguyen, Bac Kan, Yen Bai... are being severely affected by floods. Based on that reality, I called on friends and relatives to join hands to support, hoping to contribute a small part to help people overcome this difficult period...". According to Ms. Ha, after only a few days of launching, many individuals, groups, and businesses in the area have enthusiastically responded. Essential necessities such as: clothes, blankets, instant noodles, drinking water, medicine... and cash have been carefully packaged, ready to be delivered to people in flood-affected areas this weekend.
Over the years, the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Ninh have always been united, strongly promoting the tradition of "mutual love and support", "the strong help the weak" and the solidarity of Quang Ninh people, which is forged from the tradition of "Discipline and Unity". In September 2024, when Typhoon Yagi made landfall, causing heavy damage to many areas of Quang Ninh, the spirit of solidarity of Quang Ninh people in difficult times continued to be strongly aroused. Thousands of meals, porridge, and necessities were urgently transported from restaurants, eateries, and volunteer groups across the province to severely affected areas. At the same time, Quang Ninh also proactively gave 100 billion VND from the Central budget to support the province to overcome storms and floods to share with the northern mountainous provinces that are facing more difficulties, with the desire to join hands with all communities to overcome natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.
In addition to the policies issued by the Central Government, Quang Ninh has developed many specific policies to care for social security and improve social welfare for the people; allocating resources to support and help the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable groups. Each program and support policy is implemented by the province with enthusiasm, responsibility and deep sharing.

With the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind", the Provincial Fatherland Front has coordinated to successfully implement the province's direction, eliminating all temporary housing and newly-emerged dilapidated housing in the whole province; promptly supporting and helping poor households, near-poor households, union members and members in difficult circumstances affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, sudden accidents...
In particular, as a core unit in social security work, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has proactively launched, organized and effectively mobilized social resources inside and outside the province. In the period 2000-2025, the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels has mobilized over 560 billion VND, built and repaired more than 10,500 Great Solidarity houses, supported 150,000 poor and near-poor households in economic development, medical examination and treatment, granted scholarships, and cared for Tet... Hundreds of civil works, schools, medical stations in remote, border and island areas have been invested, with the participation of land and labor donations of the people.
From 2022 to now, Quang Ninh is one of the few localities that organize Tet care for the poor 100% with socialized resources, without using the state budget. These practical actions not only help the poor improve their lives, arouse their spirit of rising up, but also affirm the affection of the government and people of Quang Ninh, always persistent and profound.
