Over the past few days, people in Thu Bon commune have joined hands to pack loving banh tet and boxes of meat soaked in fish sauce to send to the North, sharing some of the difficulties that people here are suffering.
This meaningful work was initiated by the volunteer group "Duy Xuyen and friends". Seeing the complicated storm and flood situation, the group contacted and connected with the Women's Union of La Thap village, people of A Dong village (Thu Bon commune), together cooked banh tet, made meat soaked in fish sauce to send to the people of the North.
The charity group called for funding on social media. When they heard about the group’s call for support for people in the northern flood-hit areas, many people responded. Some contributed labor, some contributed strength, some contributed money.
Many people temporarily put aside their work, ready to join hands and contribute to quickly complete the dish, pack the container so the truck can roll to the North in time.

On the afternoon of October 10, at the La Thap Village Cultural House (Thu Bon Commune), everyone was busy soaking sticky rice, wiping leaves, splitting bamboo strips, and wrapping cakes. Everyone was busy, each with their own task.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam (Head of the Women's Association of La Thap village), when the volunteer group asked her to help wrap banh tet and send it to the North, she informed the villagers and received an enthusiastic response.
"Each person contributes, everyone is united, working together to wrap cakes and send them to the North. From women to young people, veterans, whoever is free participates. Those who do not have much money contribute their efforts, we hope to share some of the difficulties with people in flooded areas.
Each cake is small, but it contains the whole heart of Da Nang people," said Ms. Tam.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam - a member of the group "Duy Xuyen and friends", the group plans to make 500 banh tet, 500 jars of meat soaked in fish sauce and 300 jars of papaya fish sauce to send to flood-affected areas.
"We have made food to send to flood-affected areas many times, so we have experience. Watching TV and seeing flooded areas and devastated houses makes us feel so sad. We understand that relief is only truly meaningful when it is sent at the right time and place, so we try our best to send it to the people on time," Ms. Tam shared.
According to Ms. Tam, the group chose to make banh tet, pork marinated in fish sauce and papaya sauce because these are foods that are easy to preserve and can be kept for many days. At the same time, they can be used immediately without processing, suitable for the current situation of people in flooded areas.

For the past two days, everyone has gathered at the house of Mr. Le Van Vinh - the volunteer group leader, to cut papaya, boil meat, make fish sauce, and can it together.
Although the work was urgent and busy, everyone was enthusiastic and happy. Everyone wanted to finish it quickly so that the relief supplies could be sent to the flood victims as soon as possible.

Bringing some money to support the volunteer group to buy raw materials, Mrs. Tran Thi Tu (74 years old, living in A Dong village, Thu Bon commune) was moved to see the mutual love and support among our people.
"The Central region is familiar with storms and floods, so they understand the suffering of people in the North at this time. When they heard that a volunteer group was organizing to cook food to send to the North, my children called and asked me to contribute more to the group. The whole country is contributing and sharing, so I hope that people in the North will soon overcome the disaster," said Ms. Tu.
In addition to food, the volunteer group also received donations of necessities from benefactors. The charity bus of the people of Da Nang is expected to roll out to the North today, October 11.
