In Duong No ward, families assigned people to pump water underground, while people on the roof held the mouth of the bags, tied them tightly, and placed them in pre-calculated positions. Each roof was reinforced with dozens of water bags.

Mr. Nguyen Luan (Hue City) said that this method is more convenient and safer than carrying sand and rocks onto the roof like before. Plastic bags are light when not inflated, easy to move, quick to operate, and do not puncture the metal roof. When the storm passes, just drain the water and you can clean up immediately.

Many other households have also applied this measure, making use of available materials to proactively prevent storms and minimize damage.
